Extra OMG with the Scissors
Today I went over my hair one more time, but with dry hair āļø (I cut my hair following Brad Mondo's tutorial for the 'Sabrina Carpenter cut' the other day. There are clips on my profile) I washed my hair, poured on some Dreamcoat, blow-dried, and straightened carefully, carefully. Then I did all the steps I did when I cut my hair the other day to see if I had cut it unevenly or if something needed to be touched up. I had cut it a bit unevenly, it turned out š«£š and in hindsight, I'm not that surprised; there are advantages to handling the hair dry since it doesn't tangle as much in the actual ponytail, but it never gets better than the foundational work with the straightening, so be thorough. How do you keep the curls? š“
š I can't sleep with heatless curls and such, so I've previously twisted my hair up in a bun, as usual, and hoped for the best when I go to sleep. If I'm lucky, thereās something resembling curls left in the morning... When I started styling my hair with my own curls, I read about sleeping with the āpineappleā hairstyle, i.e., making a ponytail on top of the head to preserve the curls. For me, it clearly works best, especially when I have my hair naturally curly, but I think it works well even when I've curled with a wand. Yesterday, I made quite loose curls with my Ghd wand and not much prep and spray more than heat protectant and a little finishing spray, and when I take out the ponytail and brush it, it looks like this. Not so bad compared to how it would have looked if I had slept on my hair āØ How do you do it? Anyone using a bonnet? I help the dance studio with some events sometimes, and today it's face painting at the modern museum here in Malmƶ. Dance show and other fun stuff are also on site! Very nice mist that gives a nice distribution in the hair, like a cloud with heat protection. And!! I really liked the scent, you know that feeling when you leave the hairdresser and your hair smells "hairdresser.." I get that feeling from the scent!š It both feels and smells luxurious! Talk about a happy girl when I got the honor to try a GHD flat iron. Iāve really always wanted one, but never got around to buying one. But wow! I didnāt know there could be such a big difference between flat irons and flat irons. This one really glides nicely over the hair, I can really feel that the "stone" is of higher quality than Iām used to. The hair gets such a nice shine. Iāve tried using it both as a flat iron and to curl my hair with. I think it worked super well for curling, since it doesnāt "grab" the hair. I have used a lot of different heat protection sprays over the past years, and I really liked this one! I have always had long hair that quickly becomes dry at the ends, so I am very focused on the spray protecting my hair as well as possible when using heat. I had a highly loved ghd a few years ago, but I had forgotten how GOOD these are! The straightener heats up in just a few seconds and is ready to use. It straightens the hair quickly and leaves a soft and shiny result. I love that the iron is also very rounded at the edges, as it also works well for making curls! I see that several mention it as a disadvantage that the iron doesn't have different heat settings. For me, I usually never have a higher heat than 185 degrees anyway, to protect the hair as much as possible. I was really happy to get to try this heat protectant from #ghd as #lykoinflutester! š I had previously tried it at the salon and had high expectations since I thought it worked so well there. Therefore, I was extra excited to have it at home myself, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. Positive: - easy to spray evenly over the hair - good spray - makes the hair manageable during use - helps the hair during styling with a flat iron - handy and nice bottle Negative: - the scent is very strong, not at all like at the salon, so not recommended for those who are scent-sensitive!!! - the hair felt greasy very quickly - the ends felt very dry after use - the price is quite high - takes time to dry if used on dry hair! I was really super happy when I got the email about this assignment! š I use a flat iron regularly, about every other day, and have tried many different brands before, but never such a luxurious model! Therefore, it was extra exciting and fun to get to try it. Thank you, Lyko! š Positives: - small and handy - super fast, heats up in just about 20 seconds!!! - does its job really well - long and flexible cord - easy to use - hair glides through without getting stuck - feels like a flat iron of very high quality - durable result (especially together with ghd's heat protectant) Negatives: - unfortunately cannot be locked together, which is a bit impractical when traveling - the temperature cannot be adjusted, it is automatically 185 degrees. I would have liked to lower the heat since I have very thin hair - a bit high price As a frequent user of flat irons, especially in the mornings, I really appreciated how quickly it worked! You can clearly feel the difference between this and cheaper models. The hair feels both softer and shinier, and the result holds nicely all day. The price is understandable in the higher range, especially for me as a student, so I feel extra grateful to have had the opportunity to test it. š But I actually think it could be worth its price if it holds up just as well for several years, which it really feels built for.
