A lot of products (especially for curls) usually mean a feeling of hair being heavy and prepped. Here I am on day three after washing and today I brushed out the curls so they’ve separated. Even though I had curl cream, tons of mousse, and lots of gel when my hair was freshly washed (and even a bit more mousse yesterday), my hair looks so fresh and shiny today. Does it feel greasy? Not at all!🥰 This is the kind of thing that makes a big difference for me in evaluating hair products. Many products can make hair nice for a day/evening… but then what? I want to get more value for my money than having to wash out all the products “the next day” because my hair feels dirty or being forced to put my hair up strictly because it looks greasy. I want to choose for myself when to wash my hair! 🥰 So what have I used now then? The most expensive brand with the heaviest and most luxurious packaging? No… it’s, once again, Umberto Giannini that stands for this feeling in my hair. I have "soft eyes" that easily tear up and my eyelids get moist. I gave up on soft eyeliner with wings a long time ago and I use waterproof kajal/eyeliner or shadow that I apply (on Urban Decay's primer potion EDEN of course) along the lash line with a flat brush. A third option is to use a long-lasting eyeshadow stick that I drag a little along the outer lash line and blend more or less. Today I really blended "less" (i.e. nothing😅) because I'm lazy and barely made up, but still wanted to test my eyeshadow pencil from Gosh and have SOMETHING more than mascara. If I had wanted to, I could have also taken a flat brush, sprayed a little fixing primer, and patted dark shadow along the lash line since the pencil works almost like a primer in itself. But that will have to be another day 🤗 Otherwise, I just have Estee Lauder's tinted day cream over my regular skincare from Filorga, a little cream rouge from Nilens Jord (Danish brand), the concealer from It Cosmetics under my eyes, and the brow gel from Nyx on my brows. At those prices, I had hoped for more of a ”wow” effect… but my lips are, three weeks later, still dry and irritated all around. It hasn’t gotten worse, and maybe even a bit better, but when you’re constantly ”feeling” your lips and panicking if the application is gone, it’s not good. History: last year my lips flared up in September and I had to abandon my old trusty PL3 and tried everything possible. Ended up with Decubal saving me. The same thing happened this year and now Decubal didn’t suffice, so I tried this one on a friend’s recommendation. I’ve become dry and get red around my mouth so it even flakes. Now I’m not flaking anymore at least, but have, besides the lip mask, also applied Cicaplast around my mouth to soothe the skin AROUND my lips. Here is the palette in a bit different light. I have no primer under the swatch and the green shade is hard to capture but shows up much more in real life than on the swatch. I've only tried to do makeup with them once, and that was with primer. I like them! . Yes, you can see for yourself that it is well-used; the pomade stick from R&CO ✨ Sometimes I make a sleek ponytail according to all the rules of art with mousse or gel that I comb into my hair when I put up the ponytail. Sometimes I realize afterwards that I want it to have a more sleek look or simply don’t want to pull so many products into my hair at that moment, and then this stick is fantastic for "gluing" the hair to the head. Away with baby hairs, in with a little extra shine and hold! I got inspired last night when I was about to sleep and made some heatless curls. I usually wrap the strands alternately from the front and back around the tie. I think it holds more stable during the night, and I like that not all curls go in the same direction. I blow-dried my hair 90% dry yesterday and sprayed with texture spray before I tied up my hair. I then sprayed a little over my hair with finish spray. I used the same spray when I let my hair down, and then I scrunched in a bit of oil. The hold is never as good as with heat tools, but it's totally okay. Yesterday I tried this foundation from Lancome. I don’t buy an expensive foundation “on a whim” but I want to test them first, and I got a little sample of this one. I like it, but honestly, it reminds me a lot of Lumene’s Cc-cream in coverage, maybe liiiiiitle more covering but not much. The shade 220C worked well since I haven’t used any BUS, but if I were to buy it, I would probably need a darker one to mix with. On my eyelids, I have a taupe/gray-purple-beige eyeshadow pencil from Danish GOSH, and it was really nice and seems to be long-lasting. It needs to be tested more! Unfortunately, it seems that this one isn’t sold here at Lyko, but there are some older products available here (I assume since I bought it in Copenhagen and they should have the newest ☺️ I also bought a green eyeshadow pencil, a brown “duo-cream eyeshadow” where one is matte and the other is glittery, as well as an eyeshadow palette that I will swatch here since it’s sold at Lyko! I’m extra curious about the green shade in the palette (which looks more gray on Lyko’s site).
