A quick and easy alternative to eyeshadow
The Le Shadow Stick from L’Oréal is a really good alternative when you want a quick and simple eye makeup. It can be used in several ways – either as a regular eyeshadow or more subtly as a neutral lash line definition. I have tested two shades: a brown without shimmer and a light pink with shimmer. Both are nice but obviously give very different looks. How is it to apply? I find it very easy to apply. It’s quick to get color in place, and you can easily blend and correct edges or transitions – as long as you don’t wait too long. I usually do one eye at a time. I apply, blend, and fix the edges before moving on to the other eye. If I were to apply on both eyes first and then start blending, it has set and then becomes much harder to work with. Once it has set, it stays in place all day, making it a convenient alternative when you want an eyeshadow that’s quick to apply but still lasts. A good heat protectant is hard to be without. Sometimes I've used hairspray as heat protection when I didn't have anything else at home, but I've missed a really good heat protectant that both protects the hair and provides hold. Maria Nila Shaping Heat Spray is phenomenal at giving both heat protection and hold, without the hair feeling wet or becoming flat. Just spray on wet or dry hair before styling, so the curls last longer while the hair is protected during heat styling. Powders that last longer!
Powder can be used to set makeup so it lasts longer, mattify the skin, give more radiance, or make the skin surface visually smoother. The latter type is often called something with "blur" in the name, and that’s the only type of powder I use. Even though this product name contains many words that make it sound like a mattifying powder, I actually don’t notice much of any mattifying effect. What I do clearly notice is how the powder makes the skin look smoother and velvety soft. Be thorough with your cleansing and tailor products to your skin type. Feel free to use a mild and moisturizing cleansing cream or oil cleanser that protects the skin barrier. I usually try to avoid heavily fragranced products and products containing alcohol because they unnecessarily dry out the skin. Also try rinsing your face with lukewarm water instead of hot. L'Oréal Paris Telescopic Mascara is a good mascara for those who want longer and more defined lashes. The black color gives a clear look and the slim brush makes it easy to reach even the smaller lashes. I think the mascara gives a nice result and works well both for everyday use and when you want more defined eyes.
