Loreal - maybe not the right shade marked but choose the one that suits you. Good coverage foundation that is still light, melts well into the face and belongs to the cheaper price range. Now it’s finished and I’m going to try another one I bought here on recommendation, but a classic that will probably be bought again. Narciso - smells okay but not his best, he has some really good ones. I think this one is quite neutral and can also work on a guy. However, I think it would be divisive on that side. To me, it mostly breathes calm and harmony. Gives me a relaxed feeling and some spa thoughts. Rfsu - this product seems to have disappeared or been modernized. Added the one closest to it. I’ve had a few minor razor bumps, rarely any at all, so it does well but ingrown hairs are probably something that has improved over time. You really need to use it daily otherwise it doesn’t feel like it gives enough effect. Clarins - a body lotion, neutral, no direct scent. Not bad - not brilliant. Clinique - this was included in a Lovables last spring. Don’t remember exactly when I opened it but it has probably lasted about a year. I realized that I don’t have enough lipstick/lip gloss or similar with me at work. I usually bring a #inglot lip liner, a Loreal pencil, and then a few individual glosses or lipsticks. A disappointment 👎
I like Clinique as a brand, and both my favorite foundation and best concealer are from Clinique. About a year ago, Clinique released Even Better Clinical vitamin makeup, which is a slightly lighter foundation. Since I am so fond of their other products, I bought this on a whim as I was looking for a lighter foundation that works on my dry and sensitive skin. The consistency is thin and nice, and the color is really good for me, but that’s also the only thing. It is totally impossible to apply nicely. I have tried applying it with both a brush, makeup sponge, and just my fingers. It works best with fingers as the product should be warmed up a bit. But no matter how you apply it, it rolls off on the skin and looks downright terrible! I have of course tested it with my usual skincare underneath, which my other foundation works perfectly with. But I have also tried it with other skincare and a number of different primers to see if there’s any difference. But no matter what I have underneath, the result is the same, it rolls off. Now I have used almost half the bottle in all my attempts, but now I give up. It’s going in the trash! It helped me refrain from buying a pig in a poke, which I was close to doing... (That is, buying the product online without testing it first). I had seen Angie (who runs the YouTube channel Hot and Flashy, which has been seriously reviewing foundations for years) warmly recommend this. But as always, when it comes to others' reviews, it doesn't mean that everything that works for someone else will be good for you. Angie has combination skin that tends to be oily, and that affects both how a foundation behaves and how it wears. I have drier skin and need to be careful with products that have too little oils and fats and rely solely on humectants and silicones or absorbing ingredients to create their texture. Because that always leads to them rolling/pilling or looking awful on the skin after a few hours for me. I therefore really appreciate your review, which also shows how you tested different combinations to make it work, but that it still gave you problems. For those who say it usually depends on the combination with what you have under a foundation, that is never fundamentally the problem. Likewise, it is never a solution for everyone that skincare should "set" before applying foundation. If you have dry skin, that is very bad advice. Because what that means is that the skin starts to become surface dry again. And then the foundation will make the situation worse because they often, when formulated like this one, absorb more and more of the moisture and fat that your skincare has provided, which is never desirable if you have drier skin or a poor barrier. However, this advice can work for people with oily and greasy skin who re-oil themselves. When dry skin has problems with pilling and rolling, it is usually because the product contains a bit too many absorbing ingredients or ingredients made to use moisture and fat on the skin (which comes from the skin and not from skincare) that it wants to bind to in order to create a durable surface that doesn't get shiny too quickly (helpful for oilier skin types with adequate internal re-oiling). For drier skin types that depend on the moisture and fat from skincare to create a temporarily better functioning barrier, the result is often that it can start to pill. Another common problem is the American sunscreen ingredients. They are old-fashioned and work significantly worse, especially when you try (completely unnecessarily) to get such a product to provide SPF 50. Because who wants to put half a teaspoon of foundation on the skin, which you need if you want to get SPF 50 from a foundation... But the combination of zinc oxide (mineral protection) and ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate (chemical sunscreen) is a known combination that often causes pilling/rolling, especially in a thinner formula like this one.
