Not my cup of tea
This body mist from The Body Shop comes in a glass bottle with 100 ml. It has a warm scent of shea butter leaning towards the nutty side, but I find the scent to be way too strong and “auntie” leaning towards the sweet side. Unfortunately, it doesn't suit my taste at all and therefore will not be used. 🙈😬 A body mist should be refreshing and not have such strong tones as this product does in my opinion. 👀 Positively, the glass bottle is largely biodegradable and the contents are vegan, consisting of almost entirely natural products. 👌 It is also easy to use with its spray nozzle. Thrifty but unhygienic
This body butter from The Body Shop comes in a 50 ml plastic jar. Small and handy size with a firm consistency, about like coconut butter. This makes the product economical to use, but at the same time, you have to "dig" in the jar to apply it to the skin. This results in small lumps that then need to be rubbed in, which takes time. ⏰ It absolutely moisturizes, and the skin feels soft and smooth from the shea butter, but the process is too cumbersome. It gets sticky and feels slow to spread on the body. The scent, which contains notes of coconut among others, is way too strong for my taste. 🥥 It is certainly very individual, but it unfortunately takes over. 😬 Then we have the hygienic aspect, as the product is applied with fingers, you obviously need to make sure to have freshly washed hands before each use. The consistency probably makes it significantly harder to get out in another way. Leaves a bit to be desired
My sister and I tried this and had the same experience, fantastic scent, mild and non-irritating for the eyes. But not much happened when it came to makeup removal, and there was a residue left behind, so double cleansing with another makeup remover became a must, making cleansing balms feel excessive in my bathroom cabinet. I don't agree with the other reviews, I myself have a pretty sensitive nose and don't like heavy scents, and this one actually works! Rich & protective
This is a perfect product to have in your bag during the fall & winter gloom. I am a year-round dry skin person and really appreciate the rich formula that The Body Shop has on their body butters. I feel that it does good and stays on to protect the skin for a long time, which I appreciate, the consistency is thick and the scent is nutty unisex that also lingers on the skin for a long time. Moisturizing but not for acne-prone skin!
As #lykoinflutester has tested among other things the product Vitamin E Moisture Sleeping Mask from #thebodyshop and now comes my honest review. My first impression was that the packaging was cute, the product's consistency smooth and the scent sweet but not entirely natural. Therefore, I noticed quite quickly that this mask contains perfume, something I am not such a big fan of in my skincare. The product is to be used 2-3 times a week to help restore moisture, and make the skin look plumper and smoother. I agree that the mask provides moisture, am unsure if it makes my skin look plumper, but definitely know that it does not make my skin look smoother! Even though the product gives me a certain glow, it also gives me even more acne 😟 In the video of my skin, you can see how my skin has a nice glow but also many impurities now after 2 weeks of using the night mask. I have a combination skin type that is also very acne-prone, and even though it says that this product is suitable for all skin types, I do not agree that it is suitable for acne-prone skin. There are several ingredients such as perfume, linalool, limonene, and citric acid that are not good for the skin and make it more sensitive. Unfortunately not for my skin! But moisturizing💧
I have as #lykoinflutester been able to test some skincare products from #thebodyshop, including their Vitamin E Moisturising Toner. This product comes in a sleek and cute packaging, which however feels a bit cheap. The toner smells really good, but very strong - which for me is a red flag as it gives the impression that it contains a lot of perfume. I therefore looked at the ingredient list and saw that perfume was an ingredient present, and also very high up on the list (the higher up an ingredient is, the larger percentage it constitutes of the product's entirety) 🌸 The consistency of the toner is a bit thicker, but smooth and soft which I like. This toner has the task of cleansing, refreshing, and moisturizing the skin. More specifically, to remove stubborn dirt, but to cleanse the skin in a way that does not strip moisture. When I have used the toner, my skin has felt a bit irritated right after, as if it stings a little, but that feeling has disappeared after a few minutes when I applied moisturizer. The toner does moisturize, and whether it cleanses, I'm not quite sure. :/ From what I can see in the pictures I have taken of my skin before and after continuous use of the toner, there is a certain increased amount of glow in the face, but also an increased amount of pimples and impurities. I have a skin type that is combination, acne-prone, and quite sensitive to perfume. Therefore, this product may have reacted differently on my skin compared to others. But overall, this was not a product for me. Even though the product moisturizes a bit, it does not match my acne-prone skin. If the product did not contain perfume, it might have worked better for me! Very moisturizing💧 - suitable for drier skin!
Now that the winter half of the year has started, my skin gets a bit drier, and I need a little extra boost to keep it moisturized. So I was pleasantly surprised when I got to #lykoinflutester test #thebodyshop ’s Vitamin E Barrier Boost Cream! The product comes in a cute packaging, has a natural and fresh scent, and a thick and creamy consistency. 🌸🧴 Since the cream is very concentrated, you don’t need to use much, and it feels moisturizing as soon as you apply it to your face. The skin cream is said to be especially good for boosting your skin barrier and providing “superior hydration.” I definitely felt that the product moisturized my skin - maybe even a bit too much! 😬 It states that the product is better suited for drier skin types, so I, having combination skin, felt, despite having some dryness in my face lately due to the weather, that the cream was a bit too thick for my skin type, and therefore I became oily from this. I noticed this quite early in these 2 weeks that I have used the product every day. I think this is a good moisturizing cream that can help your skin barrier, but the thick consistency and huge amount of moisture make me recommend this to those who have normal - dry skin, but not to those who, like myself, have oily/combination skin! 🥰 Also, the product gets a minus for me personally as it contains perfume - something I don’t like to include in my skincare as my skin can react to it. As a Lykoinfluencer, I got to test this cleansing butter, and I tried it a few years ago and remember that I unfortunately didn't like it back then because it didn't get "milky" enough, which I would like a cleansing butter/balm to be. But I have changed my mind, it is really good and more "milky" now. As a Lyko influencer tester, I have tried this body mist from The Body Shop, but unfortunately, I can't get it to work for me due to the scent. The mist comes in a glass bottle, which is nice, and it dispenses a suitable amount of product with each pump, which I like. An incredible night mask!
As an influencer for Lyko, I got to test products from The Bodyshop. This time the Vitamin E Moisture Sleeping Mask 75 ml, which I have now been testing for a few weeks! A moisture bomb is coming! 💧
As an influencer for Lyko, I have tested products from The Bodyshop. This time the Vitamin E Barrier Boost Cream 50 ml, which I have now been testing for a few weeks 💧 I haven't tested anything from The Bodyshop in a very long time, and only body products, so it was fun to try skincare from them! A nourishing & moisturizing toner! As an influencer for Lyko, I got to test products from the bodyshop. This time the Vitamin E Moisturising Toner 250 ml, which I have now been testing for a few weeks. It has also become a new favorite! I haven't tested anything from The bodyshop in a very long time, and only body products, so it was fun to try skincare from them! My first impression was that the bottle was nice, the scent very natural but a bit sweet, and the consistency was thicker than I thought, which I liked! It is supposed to be nourishing, cleansing, and provide moisture. I have as #lykoinflutester gotten to try some products from #thebodyshop and last up is this cleansing butter. I love this! It completely melts away all makeup in a snap. I usually find that cleansing balms irritate my eyes, but not this one. It also leaves no oily feeling on the skin afterwards, just soft and clean. The scent is mild and pleasant with a little hint of chamomile. And it really removes all makeup, I don’t even need to follow up with any other cleansing. The scent is much milder than the body mist in the same series that I reviewed earlier but still has that slightly musty, “bad perfume” background, the scent does disappear quickly from the body. It comes in a glass bottle with a spray nozzle, the bottle feels quite light in hand, and the spray gives a nice mist. Unfortunately, the scent is not a hit, it is said to smell nutty but that is not something I can sense. Instead, it is a sharp masculine scent like a very cheap men's perfume. The body mist comes in a glass bottle. And it feels kind of fun to look at! And no! Nothing about this mist was a bullseye! It smelled extremely intense! And when I sniffed directly from the bottle before spraying it on my body, it smelled very musty 🫣🤢 And on the body, it didn't get much better & I can't agree that this is a fresh, necessary scent! More like a migraine-like scent that triggered my asthma. So after just 2 uses, I had to put this aside! Not because I needed to use it more to change my rating! A toner from The Body Shop that is very soft, smooth, and hydrating in consistency. So more creamy than watery. The bottle itself feels very cheap and plastic. But the toner does its job. Only body creams and scrubs. This is a really good and affordable face cream, I would say! It provides super good hydration and builds up your skin barrier. Especially now during the fall/winter that is sneaking in. When you are outside in the cold and go into the warmth, back and forth. It absorbs quickly into the skin and you don't walk around feeling sticky on your face. The ONLY downside I give this product is that it contains perfume! I strongly dislike perfume in my skincare that you have on your face. It just irritates my skin. Pleasantly Surprised
This was a bit of a game changer when it comes to makeup removal since I never use balm. This was absolutely fantastic! And since I usually only use cleansing cream or micellar water when I don't have the energy, I was pleasantly surprised! For this balm was fantastic! 🤩 It has a subtle scent of chamomile & the scent feels very fresh! It comes in a metal jar and I like it. However, it tends to get stuck in the hinges. I took a small dollop and massaged it into my hands, and it literally melted away all the makeup! The texture is soft & creamy and you only need a very small amount of product to remove all the makeup, including mascara! And I love that it is dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested! Because I had no issues when removing the mascara with it. And I usually react to most products I have around my eyes. This cleanser is also said to remove SPF from the skin and is clinically documented to remove impurities. Totally okay!
Unlike the body mist I tried in the same series, this body butter has a much milder & more pleasant scent! And here you can feel a hint of the nuttiness you expect 🌰 It comes in a metal jar & I like the design. However, it is a bit hard to open sometimes as it feels like it gets stuck in the grooves! And you have to twist & twist. It is said to protect and care for very dry skin! And I have constantly dry skin and tend to have atopic eczema in the fall and winter 🍂 The body butter is rich in texture & absorbs relatively quickly into the skin, but it still feels like a little “film” lingers! And I never feel really moisturized no matter how much I use of the product! And after a while of using it, I went back to my regular body lotion! But I have continued to use this on my neck and décolletage!
