Apparently it has done the exact opposite. 😂 I've been trying different bases from IsaDora, Lumene and e.l.f., experimenting with different finishes and combinations, and every time I think I've decided which one I prefer… I end up back at e.l.f. Today I did another e.l.f. makeup day, and looking at my skin afterwards I'm confused all over again. 😂 The finish looks smooth and natural, there's enough coverage to even everything out, but I can still see skin. It doesn't look like I'm wearing a thick layer of foundation. What I especially like is how it sits on my more mature skin. My texture and lines obviously haven't magically disappeared — nor do I expect them to — but the makeup isn't drawing unnecessary attention to them. The overall finish just looks soft, fresh and really wearable. And then there's my completely unofficial makeup judge: my husband. 😂❤️ I've noticed that he keeps complimenting my makeup when I'm wearing e.l.f. He doesn't care what brand I've used or what foundation I'm testing, so when the same look keeps getting compliments, I have to admit that's making me question my rankings. 😂 I genuinely like IsaDora, and I've had some beautiful results with Lumene too, so I wasn't expecting this decision to become so difficult. But e.l.f. keeps giving me that combination I want: natural-looking skin + good coverage + comfortable wear + a finish that still looks like me and most important for me it will last me all day without worrying about it while I am working outdoors doing yard work and house maintenance. When my skin is well hydrated and behaving, it gives a really nice grippy base and helps my makeup sit well throughout the day. However, it can be a little hit or miss for me depending on how my skin is that morning. On drier or rougher skin days I've noticed that it can sometimes start to flake or pill, which isn't ideal when I'm trying to get a smooth base. I still enjoy using it, but I personally prefer the e.l.f. gripping primer slightly more, because so far I haven't noticed the same flaking issue with the e.l.f. one. Milk is great on a good skin day, but for me it isn't quite as foolproof. Pros: good grip, nice base when skin is hydrated, makeup wears well. Cons: can flake/pill on my drier skin days. I have tried many primers and I can say that this type of primer is the best for long-lasting makeup that lasts all day and makes the makeup sit well. My first impression of this was "WOW" I didn’t have high expectations but was really happy with it! It gives such a nice light glittery glow to the makeup. It leaves a nice glow on the skin, but the glitter particles are quite visible. I applied it and as you can see, there is glitter on my skin, hair, and t-shirt.
