Try before you buy! ☝️
I bought a small sample to be able to test it. Here comes my honest impression. SPOILER ALERT! I might be going against the flow here and I'm sorry to say that I don't like the scent – unfortunately, the result hasn't convinced me either. 😔 Yes, the oil is super light and the hair doesn't get greasy from it (if used as instructed), I also get a bit of softness. But the shine... nah... it doesn't turn out as promised; I see almost no shine at all – in my hair! And I do NOT have porous hair but thin, yet a lot of it, and also it's just a little frizzy. Clean hairbrush and make-up brush
Actually, I don’t use solid hand soap to wash my hands. I bought this one to clean my hairbrush and my make-up brush. I saw in a video here in the Lyko community that you can do it like that. I had no idea! So far, I’ve used dish soap, which worked really well! But I like to learn and try new things. 😊 About the soap: The scent has a 'typical' soap smell, which you neither like nor dislike. I don’t like it; there are definitely better hand soap scents. But I only use it for my 2 brushes, so I add a drop of nicely scented dish soap to even out the soap smell. ☺️ The soap cleans both the hair and make-up brushes well. I like the brand 'Dove', that’s why I chose it, plus it was on sale. 😉 Still, I think the result with this one wasn’t as good as what dish soap does. The soap also didn’t fully dissolve. Maybe a liquid soap is better for the purpose? Have I really found a hair favorite??! 🥹🥹 In a small sample kit from @Kérastase, which I bought from an online store, came their probably most talked-about oil, which I have wanted to try for a long time but thought it was a bit too expensive and probably not as good as they say. So I got excited-happy to finally experience this 'miracle cure' myself: I applied a tiny amount to damp hair and Woooow!! 😲 Never have I had such smooth, beautiful hair in a damp state – no tangles, nope! I didn’t even need to comb (with a wide-tooth comb), just ran my fingers through. And as I said, I only used a tiny bit! 🥰 The scent of the oil is incredibly nice, soft and pleasant, not at all overpowering, which surprised me (positively), as I usually find Kérastase a bit too strong in scent for my taste, but I am scent-sensitive and have migraines, so... I’ve also tried the oil on dry hair; even less is needed, 1 pump is enough for me. The hair instantly becomes soft, shiny, completely frizz-free, looks well cared for, feels lightweight and smells heavenly (pleasantly mild). 🥰 The oil is also very economical, neither sticky nor greasy, leaves no residue and doesn’t weigh the hair down. Yes, now I can absolutely understand the hype!! 🌟❤️🌟❤️🌟 As a cheaper alternative/dupe to this, L’Oréal’s Elvital Extraordinary Oil is mentioned. I’ve tried that too and don’t think it matches up. I liked Kérastase much better! It was a bit lighter in texture, smelled much better and was much more economical. With L’Oréal, my hair felt greasy and not nearly as cared for and nice. It weighed the hair down and felt oily. Also, I had to use 2-3 times as much for a result I was happy with. By the way: The morning after applying the oil (I washed my hair the afternoon before), I woke up with incredibly nice hair! No hair ties, no frizz – just softness, shine, smoothness and lightness! What a feeling! 🥰🥰 I barely needed to brush through my hair – and the best part: it lasted all day – I haven’t used more oil or other products to not distort the result! I am more than thrilled! I wanted to love it, but..
...unfortunately, I can't handle the scent. 😪 I got a severe migraine attack, and it makes me so sad because the serum seems sooooo amazing! I really wanted to use and love it, like so many of you do, but... 😔😔 I hoped that the shampoo, conditioner, and mask had a different scent or at least a less strong one. So when I saw such a sample kit in an online store for a small price, I went for it. Tried them all today. The result was pretty good. I personally find the shampoo a bit too little nourishing for my hair. I want my hair to feel nourished already after shampooing; meaning the hair doesn't feel straw-like after rinsing. After the conditioner and even more after the mask, the hair is super nourished! Great result! I'm thrilled, BUT..!! The scent is too strong and something in it triggered a strong migraine attack. Such a shame! 😔 I'm torn. The hair feels soft and incredibly light after these 3 products. I've never had such a feeling before! Love it! 🥰 But it can't be worth a migraine attack every wash day. If a fragrance-free version came out, I would probably buy the whole series immediately. But the search continues... There must be another shampoo with the same outstanding result... or? I won't give up hope.😊 Addition: I have to add one thing now, 1 day after washing: I woke up with super nice hair! My hair has volume (which it never usually has), looks shiny and nice even before brushing. I only need to brush briefly through the hair, and it goes super smoothly, i.e., no tangles, no frizz!! 😃 But the hair still smells, now in the evening the day after washing. So, dearest kerastase please make a fragrance-free version of this series (without changing the results, of course) for those of us who are scent-sensitive and easily get migraines! I'm sure even more would buy it because it's absolutely fantastic!! I honestly didn’t have high expectations, but I bought this because the price was great and I also wanted a scrunchie that doesn’t damage hair, that’s not too big and not too small, and that isn’t black like all my others. ☺️ I removed the bead with pliers because it would damage the hair. The color isn’t pure white, more cream – almost apricot (depending on the light), which I really like! Looks classy and shines a little. The material isn’t real silk, but still nice! I don’t know how long it will last, it’s already stretched a bit, but all scrunchies do that. I’m definitely very satisfied!
