I had the opportunity to be #lykotestpilot for a few weeks for #matrix Glow Mania. I have porous, colored, and bleached hair that needs extra love before blow-drying. I didn’t think this was a wow product since Matrix has better leave-ins that I describe further down! Leave in: ✅Heat protection 230°C ✅Smells good, like Earl Grey tea approximately 🆗Hair can feel a bit greasy 🆗Pretty expensive but a totally okay economical product ❌Not much shine ❌I have tested both this “Glow mania leave in” and “Matrix miracle creator total results” (Lyko article 1008-264-0190) Glow mania focuses solely on shine, color retention, and heat protection up to 230°C. Miracle Creator has the same properties plus for example faster blow-drying, frizz control, moisture protection, etc. for a cheaper price (and smells better). Glow mania is also developed for use in wet hair while MC can be used in both wet and dry hair. Conditioner ✅Reasonable price ✅Good packaging ✅Easy to detangle 🆗The hair is soft and shiny but not more than usual 🆗The conditioner smells like tea, almost like Earl Grey? It smells good in the shower, but unfortunately the shampoo smells fresh citrus and the conditioner smells like sweet tea, so after the shower, the hair has no distinct scent of anything. Separately, they smell very good but not together ❌The hair definitely becomes soft when dry, but it almost feels like the conditioner isn’t completely rinsed out and remains like a film on the hair strands Unfortunately, I haven’t had time to test the series long enough to see any difference in whether the color lasts longer or better. I have had the opportunity to be #lykotestpilot for a few weeks for shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in conditioner in this series from #matrix. I have been thinking about buying this series myself as it sounds interesting for my bleached, colored, and frizzy hair with a normal scalp. ✅The shampoo smells fresh of citrus ✅Lathers just right ✅Reasonable price ✅Good packaging ❌Shampoo and conditioner do not smell the same ❌I have a hard time washing out, for example, hairspray, wash 2 times but don’t quite get the "squeaky clean" feeling I want, instead it feels like a lot of focus is on moisture (probably better suited for drier scalps) ❌The product promises "diamond-like shine" as well as "improved and more vibrant color shine", but I don’t see any major difference with the naked eye 🆗Since I haven’t had time to test the shampoo for a longer period, I unfortunately can’t determine if the color stays nice longer than normal. ❌Overall, I am quite disappointed with the series as Matrix has been my favorite brand in hair care for many years. I got the chance to be a test pilot for this product line. I have medium-thick hair with fine strands. I also have a bit of a sensitive scalp that can get dry/itchy sometimes, but I didn't react badly to the shampoo. The shampoo didn't dry out my hair, but it felt like my hair got greasy pretty quickly. Gave a very nice shine to my hair just as promised. The scent has notes of grapefruit & a little Earl Grey tea, so it smells fresh but is not a favorite of mine. The conditioner makes the hair soft, smooth & shiny just as promised. Great value pack that lasts a long time. Not as thick in consistency as many similar products. The spray distributes nicely in the hair. Smells fresh of citrus, but has a hint of Earl Grey tea which unfortunately isn't a favorite of mine. As a test pilot, I have now used Matrix Glow Mania Glow Gatekeeper Glow Sealing Leave In Conditioner after every wash on towel-dried hair for a couple of weeks, and this is my impression after repeated uses. 🫧 A bit about my hair: straight and quite fine, bleached, and the lengths easily become dry. 🧡 Scent and usage Just like the shampoo and conditioner, this leave-in has a fresh and uplifting citrus scent that makes it lovely to use in the shower. The spray bottle is large and very handy, it's easy to distribute the product evenly through towel-dried hair. I use it both as a conditioning spray, nourishment, and heat protection before I blow-dry my hair, and it really does the job without weighing my hair down. 🧡 Feel after washing The hair becomes very easy to detangle immediately after application. The spray makes the lengths soft and easy to style, while it feels like the hair gets a nice extra care. I immediately notice that the hair becomes shiny and looks healthier. 🧡 Color preserving and shine After use, the hair looks healthier and becomes very shiny and nice. As a bonus, it also works as heat protection up to 230°C, so I can just blow-dry my hair right after washing without needing to apply an extra heat protectant besides this, so nice! 🧡 Summary This is a product I really like and that feels like a real star in the Glow Mania series. The consistency is creamy, it lathers up well and is easy to distribute through the hair. It doesn’t weigh down my fine hair structure, which is a big plus. 🧡 Feel after washing After rinsing, the hair feels clean, airy, and definitely fresh. I find that the lengths don’t become particularly soft or rehydrated by the shampoo alone since my ends tend to get dry, it requires a good conditioner or a mask afterwards to get the moisture back. In that way, the shampoo does what you expect from an everyday shampoo: cleanses without making the hair frizzy. 🧡 Color preserving and shine Matrix markets the product as color preserving with ingredients like glycolic acid and rosehip oil to provide shine. After a few weeks of use, I haven’t noticed any significant difference in color preserving effect or any dramatic increase in shine. The hair looks clean and well cared for, but the wow shine that is promised is not noticeable on me. 🧡 Summary This is a good, fresh, and easy-to-use shampoo. I have had the honor of #lykotestpilot testing the Matrix Glow Mania series with shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in for a few weeks now. The conditioner: is supposed to detangle and be color-protective. The hair should also feel softer and shinier. The conditioner has a faint lemon scent, and according to the instructions, you should only use it from halfway down the hair to the ends, so you don't use too much product. The first time, I made the mistake of applying the conditioner higher up, and I felt that my hair looked a bit greasy faster than usual. But that was because I hadn't read the product before. When I used the product correctly, I got a fantastic result. ⭐️ the hair becomes very shiny ⭐️ the hair looks healthy and well-groomed. ⭐️ The hair is easy to detangle. ⭐️ stays shiny and soft until the next wash. I got the chance to try the Glow Mania Conditioner as a test pilot for Lyko. The product is pretty okay for my hair, which is blonde and treated, I think it required a relatively large amount of conditioner to apply to my hair, and also my hair didn't feel particularly moisturized when it was wet. However, the product gave a surprising result after it dried, as it provided a nice glow and looked moisturized and fresh - so it exceeded my expectations!
