Successful Spontaneous Purchase
Before the vacation, I needed to buy a face cream that would help restore the skin after diving (an hour in seawater is not exactly a beauty treatment for the skin 😅). I have had difficulty committing to a specific brand, and now it became a spontaneous purchase of The Inkey list 10% Urea moisturizer. "Dry an rough skin solution" reads the text on the tube, and I thought it fits well. In summer, I otherwise have a combination skin towards the drier side but rarely gets flaky without a bit of redness. And I am 43, so the skin needs a little extra lüöööv ❤️ The cream comes in a tube, and it is nice and practical... until the cream is down to its last 25%, because then two-handed grip is required to squeeze out the cream. (I had to squeeze out a bit of cream on my knee to show the consistency on film since I need to press with both hands 😅) A miss in my opinion and quite annoying on an otherwise fine product! The cream itself is probably not completely unfragranced, but not far off. It has a slight fresh note but very, very faint. The cream is "medium thick" and feels rich and moisturizing without being heavy. I was a bit afraid it would be too heavy for summer, but it just feels rich in a good way. The cream is a 24h cream and can be used both day and night. In other words, it has no SPF, which is totally fine with me because it’s in my makeup anyway, and I supplement with real SPF if I’m going to be outside. I think it’s convenient to have ONE cream when traveling, so I like the 24h concept. My skin has felt hydrated and calm despite external factors like sun/water and internal factors like a bit of dehydration now and then. The cream is good, but the packaging brings down the rating. I don’t want to have to cut open the packaging to get the last bit out. #theinkeylist #lykoreview1 product in post Successful Spontaneous Purchase976 viewsto leave a comment - 3 weeksRating: 5 out of 5
A new favorite
I’ve been a little scared to try new products for a while since my skin has reacted a lot to new products lately (small breakouts and fungal acne). I won this one at Lyko and thought, "might as well try it, can’t get worse". I have to say I absolutely love it. I have very dry and sensitive skin, and this has really helped to soothe and hydrate my skin. I also suspect it has helped to reduce my breakouts and pimples, probably because I tolerate the product + because the product does what it promises. I also like the packaging and the formula. I really feel hydrated right away, and it has worked well under makeup. I will definitely look to buy again! 😃 #lykoreview #serum #theinkeylist1 product in post A new favorite159 viewsto leave a comment - 1 month
Thank you!!
Won a contest from #theinkeylist, can’t wait to try it out! I was a bit surprised when the package arrived, it seems to have been lost in the postal jungle for a couple of weeks… BUT NOW IT'S HERE WIHOOO 🙌🏻🕺🥰 - Rating: 3 out of 5
°*~Thoughts on a Cleansing Balm~*°
One thing I think can be exciting is to try a product again that you tested a year ago or more. It has happened to me several times that I started to like products that I previously didn't like, maybe because I've learned more and can better understand the benefits, or simply because it fits my skin better now. With this Oat Cleansing Balm from The Inkey List, however, it's the opposite. Loved this a couple of years ago! I thought back then that it felt like a stable product that removed makeup well, was gentle on the skin, and at a good price. And sure, I can agree with myself to a large extent - but today I've come across products that have both these qualities and work SO much better, so I was actually a bit disappointed when I started using this again because I remembered it as a bit better. The benefits are, however, these: you get a decent tube that lasts a good while, at a relatively low price, one of the best prices for the amount of product in the class, I think? The product is fragrance-free and extremely gentle on the skin. If you experience a film from it, I can say that I low key have started to appreciate that film since it doesn't make me break out but instead feels nurturing and protective. Especially like this in the winter! What I think is worse is this: I had read about others who had problems with the product separating in the tube, but I had never experienced it myself. Now I have, and it's actually not so fun. It doesn't help how much I try to shake it, a fart thick product comes out and oil runs down the side (see picture). Now that I think about it, maybe this is part of the problem, since that oil belongs in the product and not beside it. Maybe it makes its makeup removing effects worse, because that's thing number two; I don't think it's that good at it. So it works, but you have to stand and rub and rub, and if you compare it to other cleansing balms (read: Clean It Zero), it definitely ranks at the bottom. Also, I think it's quite not economical, I need double the amount of product as with other balms to feel that the makeup is dissolving. I know this got quite long, I had a lot of thoughts about this, so thanks if you read all the way here. The sum of the matter for me is a meh. I can see that this product has some positive qualities, but as a cleansing balm, I probably won't choose it again since I now have other products that I prefer in that category. However, it is nice on the skin, and I happily use it up as a face wash with a little extra cream now that it has gotten so cold (as the first step in a double cleansing). I feel, however, that it might be time for The Inkey List to reformulate it so that it doesn't separate in the bottle for half the people who buy it. On the other hand, it is loved even as it is now... But have YOU tried Clean It Zero? 😍 #lykoreview #theinkeylist #cleansingbalm1 product in post °*~Thoughts on a Cleansing Balm~*°1387 views- @Cecilia thank you so much, that made me happy! 🥰 Yes, I read your review and I got the feeling that you weren't completely satisfied 😢 I can see your points. It's wonderful when you find something you really enjoy, but I should actually get better at checking what's cruelty-free... 🧐🤓1 likes
