Good but expected more
I've been testing this lip balm for a few weeks now and have mixed feelings about it🤍 When it comes to the design, I think both the paper packaging it comes in and the product itself are sleek, nice, and give a serious impression. When applying the balm, the lips feel smooth and soft, they feel moisturized and get a nice shine. However, I really don't like having a scent on my lips, as you can constantly smell it after application. I also don't like vanilla scent. Is there any visible plump? I took a before and after picture. I feel on my lips that they get a bit plumped after application, but I can't see or feel any difference before and after I started using this. I often struggle with dry lips and find it hard to find products that deliver what they promise. So I was quite skeptical when I got this, but I had no reason to be. Not for me
As a #lykoinflutester, I was lucky to get to test products from #paulaschoice. But this turned out to be a big disappointment, unfortunately. First, a bit about my skin type: I have normal skin, a bit sensitive around the eyes. I don’t know what, but something in it didn’t like my skin; I got red, pimple-like rashes within a short time, especially near the eyes. The skin felt sticky, neither soft nor supple as claimed. I also don’t think it smells good, more earthy. I’m also not a fan of the pump on the container to get the product out, luckily you could easily unscrew the lid. The packaging looks fresh and young, so I had a bit too high expectations for this product, especially at such a price.. As a task from #lykoinflutester, I got to test this nourishing lip balm from #paulaschoice It has a light brown-beige nude color and contains peptides that are supposed to provide nutrition and proper moisture to the lips! My first impression of the packaging was that it felt solid and well thought out, the press on It felt high quality and luxurious. However, I found it hard to get the product out at first. Now it’s much easier. I'm not someone who likes to use lip balm daily because I find it uncomfortable to have sticky lips without the lips becoming soft right away. But when I tested this product, I fell in love immediately! It has a mild vanilla scent and a pleasant texture if you use the right amount. Even when most of it is removed, I feel that a lot of moisture and softness it provided remains. This is definitely a product that exceeded my expectations. Another lip product I tested before that gave me soft lips without stickiness was unfortunately way too expensive (about 1000 SEK), and I’ve wondered if there’s a product that gives similar results, and I think this is it! Now I don’t have to walk around with dry and flaky lips! Plus, it gives an incredibly nice finish on the lips with a subtle nude color. A bit too expensive
As a #lykoinflutester, I got to try this peptide cream from #paulaschoice, which is said to work well as both a day and night cream since it sits nicely under makeup. It’s also fragrance-free, which is a big plus for my sensitive skin! My first impression was that the jar has a very ergonomic and hygienic design and the dosing, which I really like. Then it felt like good quality in the cardboard and plastic, etc. The cream is quite thick but still lays fairly soft and light on the skin. However, I find it a bit stickier and oilier than the one I previously used during the day, so I mainly used this one in the evening. I thought it added moisture, but with my current routine including serum, unfortunately, my skin became a bit too oily during the day than I would have liked, so it felt a bit heavier and stickier when I had makeup on. However, the makeup sat nicely on top as mentioned. As a night cream, I liked it much more since it felt lighter because I didn’t apply anything on top of it. Could be a good day cream now for colder and drier times. Overall, I like it but think the price is too high for me to want to buy it again. Love the packaging and that it hasn’t caused me any reaction due to the fragrance-free ingredients. Do I dare stop using it?
🌙 First night I’m very cautious with heavier products that feel dense and was skeptical the first night I applied this. I agreed with myself to stop immediately if my skin showed the slightest sign of rash or acne. I have sensitive skin and my routine has been working so well lately that a disruption was the last thing I wanted. 📅 One month later Now I’ve used the product throughout the entire test period and it has worked excellently, even though it contains oils and I’m generally oil-sensitive. Now I wonder instead if I dare stop using it? We’ll see… ✨ The result My skin (40+) has been absolutely radiant the past month. I already thought before the test month that I had found my perfect skincare routine and that this might disrupt it – but the skin actually got even better. I don’t think I’ve ever had skin this good before (if you exclude age as a variable). No redness, no bumps, not too oily, not too dry. 📦 The packaging And the packaging! I love that it’s a hygienic type of openable jar! You probably don’t need to open it fully until the very end, and I’m not there yet. 🧴 Consistency and use The cream feels quite rich, almost “blue Nivea-jar rich” (for those who get the reference), but it hasn’t clogged my skin at all. I’ve used the cream as the last step after toner and serum, and it has sealed everything nicely. The cream is too rich for me to use during the day, so in the morning I wash my face and use lighter products. But I think it’s worked well overnight. ⭐ Review The rating then? I really like it, as it has worked very well and I experience my skin as – just as promised – plumped. The packaging is a appreciated bonus. What I don’t like is the price. I think I can probably get a good sealing cream for a significantly lower price. But which one…? And will a lower-priced product give the same good results? Those are things I have to think about. From “oh no” to “aha!”
💋 First impression When I first put on this lip gloss care product, I thought “oh no,” but shortly after it became “aha!” 😖 Sticky lips, my fear I hate lip products that are sticky. I have baby fine hairs all over my face, and there are always some hairs that break free and flutter around. If I have sticky lips, the hairs stick to them like glue – and I hate that feeling so much that it tingles all over my body just thinking about it. IT TINGLES! Horrible feeling! That’s why I almost passionately hate sticky lips. ✨ But not this one But this product isn’t like that – the lips are only sticky for a short time after application. After that, they’re just moisturized and soft. And not so much that you feel it on the lips themselves. Because if you do, I’m constantly smacking and rubbing my lips together. I’m hopeless that way. But these give just enough moisture to still feel natural. I really like that. In fact, I’ve never before tried a lip gloss that has stayed so well on my scale. I usually go with bare lips or something matte (but that’s rare). But I carried this around in my pocket and on my lips constantly. 👄 Look and applicator The lips don’t get super shiny. They don’t get plump or extra pouty. They just look healthy and well cared for. The color is barely noticeable on me; it just deepens the color I already have. I also like the applicator. I like that it’s slanted, and that it’s easy to wipe off. 💸 The price Unfortunately, I misplaced the product when just over half the test period had passed. I’ve missed it ever since. Immediately I thought I had to buy a new one. And here’s the only downside of the product – the price. If it had cost less, I wouldn’t hesitate, but now it’s unfortunately at a level where I might buy it on sale. In my opinion, it costs about 100 kronor too much. 🍦 The scent Maybe I should say something about the scent too. It smells strongly of good vanilla. I don’t know why lip products have to be a whole aromatherapy? But maybe we like that? Good for the night!
As a #lykoinflutester, I got to try this moisturizing cream from #paulaschoice. The jar is fantastic, I love the pump function – perfect amount with just one press. The color is magical and fits nicely in the cabinet. The texture is soft, smooth, and easy to work with. It doesn’t really work as a base under makeup for me though, it unfortunately "crumbles." Nice color but wrong consistency for me
The color Toasted Vanilla is absolutely beautiful on the lips and gives a very fresh result! The formula itself isn’t directly sticky, but it’s a bit too thick and heavy for my taste. I also didn’t really notice any "plumping" effect. I also didn’t quite get along with the applicator on the tube. The slot where the product comes out feels a bit too narrow, so when I tried to apply it directly on my lips, it almost felt like it was scraping the product away instead of laying it down nicely. It worked better when I dabbed it on with my finger instead. I have been testing this moisturizer for a while now, and it really delivers on what it promises. The cream has a rich but surprisingly light texture that melts right into the skin without feeling sticky or heavy. The skin feels immediately hydrated, soft, and gets a really nice, healthy "plump" glow. This cream is also completely fragrance-free 😍 The hygienic pump bottle is a big plus, you just press down to get exactly the right amount without having to put your fingers into the jar. It also works perfectly under makeup and doesn’t roll. A bit pricey, but long-lasting in use and definitely worth it for dry or moisture-deprived skin now in the summer. I have relatively dry skin and think this cream has worked incredibly well now during summer/fall, but I think I’ll need one that moisturizes a bit more as winter approaches. This is a top-notch cream for everyday use and sits nicely under makeup. The packaging is also excellent. What brings it down a bit for me is that I find the price a bit high. Big Favorite!
This lip balm quickly became a big favorite of mine and hangs on my keychain to always be with me! I didn’t think I would like it since I immediately thought of other popular variants that I’ve hated, partly because they were sticky. But this was anything but that! Incredibly pleasant on the lips, no weird taste, and a subtle but nice scent. Beautiful color that doesn’t make any drastic change but works just as well alone as over/with a lip liner. The lips feel moisturized long after it’s gone. I have now tested this moisturizer for about a month and I am really impressed!! To start with, I am very fond of the packaging! Not only is it really nice, but I also love the lid itself – not a screw cap like it usually is (which personally drives me crazy, having to get it right on the threads or whatever it's called), but this lid you just pull off and when you're done you just press the lid back on, no twisting 😊 Then pressing on the container itself to get exactly the right amount is magical! I love packaging like this and definitely worth 5 stars. Before we get into how I experience the cream itself, here’s a quick overview of my skin type: 👋Mature. 👋Normal, but tends to be dry during the colder months. 👋Can be a bit sensitive. What I like about this: 👌I love that it is rich in a "non-greasy" way. 👌It absorbs very quickly, leaves absolutely no sticky residue. (I don’t have to wait forever to put on makeup in the morning!) 👌I don’t notice any scent at all and as far as I can see, it’s completely fragrance-free, big plus! 👌I haven’t had any negative reactions to it, so I’d say it’s also suitable for sensitive skin. 👌Gives a nice "just right" glow. 👌For me, the most important thing is that a day cream doesn’t clash with foundation, and this one handles that perfectly. Fantastic moisture bomb that creates the perfect makeup base
I have tried Paula’s Choice Pro-Collagen Peptide Plumping Intensive Cream and am incredibly impressed. This cream truly does what it promises when it comes to giving the skin moisture, plumpness, and a beautiful glow. Dry lines feel instantly plumped and the skin stays soft all day. What I like best, besides the results, is how incredibly fast it absorbs into the skin. Even though it’s an intensive and rich cream, it doesn’t leave any greasy or sticky residue. It works absolutely fantastic under makeup. Foundation and concealer apply so beautifully on top without rolling or caking, making it a perfect moisturizing base. Additionally, I have to give a big plus for the packaging. The smart pump function is incredibly convenient, hygienic, and makes it easy to dose just the right amount. The only downside for me is the scent. Since the product is completely fragrance-free, the ingredients have a rather special smell (a bit chemical or plasticky) right upon application, but it disappears quickly so it’s nothing bothersome in the long run. Now that I have been using this for almost 20 days and everytime I use it my skin gets well #nourished. Whenever i put the cream it gets absorbed totally by my skin, leaving it #smooth and #glowy. In my role as #lykoinflutester, I got to test two products from Paula's Choice, a brand I used frequently a few years ago but that has somewhat faded from my routine lately. So it was extra fun to rediscover an old favorite. I'm almost a bit obsessed with always having something on my lips (gloss, balm, lipstick, or cerate, it really doesn't matter), even though I rarely have dry lips. The only times it happens is if I've used a drying product or when the weather is extremely cold or hot. The Pro-Collagen Peptide Gloss Balm is described as a 3-in-1 product combining lip treatment, lip balm, and lip gloss. It is also supposed to give the lips a plumper feel, but I actually don't notice that effect. However, that's not something that bothers me. I really like the applicator. It is slimmer and more precise than many other similar products, which makes application easy and pleasant. It feels light and smooth, not clumsy at all. The formula itself is a bit thicker than many other gloss balms, which means you need to press a little harder on the tube to get the product out, but that's not a problem, just unusual. On the lips, the product feels wonderfully comfortable, not particularly sticky or tacky. It gives a nice shine that feels neither too much nor too little. The shade Toasted Vanilla gives a subtle brown color that suits both everyday and party occasions. It also has a mild and pleasant vanilla scent. The only thing I wish is that the product lasted a bit longer on the lips. Unfortunately, it disappears quite quickly on me, which means I need to reapply more often than I would like. A really lovely lip product with a nice feel, beautiful shine, and a smooth applicator. Very good face cream
I have been looking at and considering testing products from #paulaschoice lately, so when I as a #lykoinflutester now got the chance to test some products, I was very excited. First of all, I think the packaging with the bright pink color was a fresh and nice product to have out. And what for me is the biggest plus is the way you take the product out. You don’t have to put your fingers in or use a separate spatula to get the product from the jar. You just press the lid and then the cream comes up and lays on top. So hygienic! Also a big plus that it doesn’t really smell much. No perfume. When I first tried it, I was a bit skeptical since it seemed quite greasy in consistency. But as soon as I spread it out, it became so light and nice in texture. It absorbs well into the skin. I have added this to my regular skincare routine, as the last step before sunscreen during the day. Finally something that works on my lips
I very rarely use anything on my lips, not even lip balm, because I always end up with blisters/canker sores after a couple of uses. This one from #paulaschoice, however, has given me nothing but soft and nice lips💋 I love the nice scent and taste of caramel-like vanilla🥰 And the soft and nice texture is lovely. The color is very natural and pretty. I don’t notice any plumping effect, but I’m not looking for that anyway, so it doesn’t bother me. The only downside for me is the applicator tip itself. I find that product collects on the sides during application. I have to wipe it off with my fingers so it doesn’t get messy inside the cap. Nothing I will use up
A cream that looked like it could be fantastic at first but on the skin feels more silicone-like and superficial than deeply moisturizing. The ingredients explain this as it actually contains silicones that create that feeling of smooth and soft skin but don’t do much for deeper hydration. It also lacks deep-penetrating lipids like ceramides or richer ingredients such as shea butter. So for me, it didn’t become a new favorite; I wish it had more deep-penetrating ingredients to provide longer-lasting moisture. That my skin also reacted with some redness doesn’t help the rating either. But that’s not the product’s fault!
