The pump doesn't work
The first bottle I got didn't work at all, the next one only worked partially. It's easy to make a complaint at LYKO. I think they are flexible and helpful. So when I complained about the bottle, I quickly got a new one. Because the pump was completely defective. The new one I got works partially. The spray consists of a bit of mist and one uneven large squirt. There's also no power in it, so it drips off. I also have to use both hands to press out the spray. The combination means I haven't been able to use it as intended. I sprayed the product into my hands and rubbed it into my hair to see how it looked. It might be borderline heavy for my hair type – which is thin Nordic hair. I think it smells absolutely lovely. It has a pleasant floral scent. But it is too strong for those who don't like or tolerate perfume. I don't want to complain again or throw away the bottle. I want to find another bottle to pour it into. Spraying it into my hands I didn't like that much. This is not a review
But maybe more of a heartfelt sigh. Because I bought products from Catrice for the first time a few weeks ago. Had I known there would be such an affordable calendar, I would have bought that instead. Because I wanted to test the brand itself. For those who don’t know Catrice, I want to say a few words. I have now tested four products from them – I am done with one review. And I am very impressed. Even though the price is low and the packaging cheap. Because the products almost reach the level of the more well-known and expensive brands. But I have also learned that Catrice can have varying quality, as they often change the collection to catch trends. So it’s not certain that all the content is equally good. But still. This must be an excellent gift for someone exploring makeup for the first time, but also for those who are experienced. I am a grown woman and I can definitely appreciate Catrice. You also get earrings, nail polish, and a scrunchie. The products in my picture – blush, setting powder, setting spray, and a skin tint – I put together a nice look with them. If there are any copies left after Christmas, I might buy it. Either for myself or my niece. But others can buy it first. It’s hard to give the right number of stars to the calendar since I’m unfamiliar with the content. But I can give it four. Too heavy for fine hair strands
Lyko's own Repair Leave-in Cream was too heavy for my hair. And I should have understood that if I had read a bit more carefully what it actually contains before I bought it. My hair is typically Nordic. Very fine hair strands, and very many of them. I have tested it on wet hair, on dry hair, a little in the lengths, and even less in the lengths, but with the same result. The hair gets tired. And greasy. And that's because it contains shea butter. It becomes too heavy for my hair type. Even after a round with detox shampoo first. I think it smells like plastic toys, or My Little Pony for those who remember them. I don't think it fits so well on a hair product. But the scent is not ugly or annoying. I like the design. A good budget option
Catrice's baked blush is very good. Even though it costs very little. 🧡 I wasn't familiar with the brand Catrice before, and I want to write a bit about it at the end of my review. 🧡 The packaging is simple and maybe a bit fragile. I doubt it can withstand much. But so far, I find the open-and-close mechanism good. 🧡 The formula itself impresses me. I find it has a lot of pigment. And I think it has a lovely glow, and it can also be used as a highlighter. 🧡 It is very easy to apply and blend out. And it stays nice for a long time. The color was probably not quite what I imagined it would be, but that's how it is when you shop based on pictures. The color is somewhat darker. But I like it. 🧡 My skin is of the lightest type (red hair), mature and a bit dry. I used the blush together with Catrice Tinted Moisturizer, setting spray, and setting powder. I liked the result a lot, and I got compliments. 🧡 I believe this blush can compete with bigger well-known brands. It's the packaging they have cut costs on, not the product itself. ℹ️ So about the brand Catrice. Catrice is a German brand, owned by the same company as Essence. The philosophy behind it is to offer good quality without it costing too much. ℹ️ I've also read that Catrice wants to keep up with trends and therefore releases new collections often. This can lead to varying quality. ℹ️ Catrice has been spared from major scandals but has received criticism for short shelf life and products that get damaged during transport. And again, not all products are equally good. ℹ️ Catrice has 100% vegan ingredients, and they have strived to keep the level of microplastics and unwanted substances out of their formulas. ℹ️ Catrice follows EU legislation and does not test on animals. They also do not sell their products to mainland China, where animal testing was previously required. ⭐ But next time I will choose a different shade – and above all, I want to see it before I buy. Because of the color, which does not match the picture or description, I unfortunately have to deduct two stars. Not for you if you easily get clogged pores
I had hopes for this mist, but unfortunately it completely failed for me. Just two hours after I used the mist, my skin had a reaction. The coconut oil clogged my pores to a great extent. I have dry and mature skin, light Nordic. I have no particular issues, except that it is sensitive. I have used self-tanner since the 90s and use self-tanning drops daily. But I have never experienced this before. Except with sunscreen. The color also became way too strong, but that’s probably to be expected. I have red hair and the very light skin that comes with it. I also turned orange on my chest. So it’s me, not Bronza. I see that many really like the mist. So for most people, it’s probably great. But I like the design, and the mist is easy to spray on and spreads as it should. I like the scent. It’s hard for me to give it only two stars when I understand that it’s actually good, but that’s just how it has to be this time. Absolutely lovely. 🫧 Embryolisse Lait-Creme Sensitive: The face cream I always come back to. 🫧 Rituals foaming shower gel: I was impressed by the design here. A very reliable bottle. 🫧 DeoDoc Fresh Coconut Shaving Foam: The best shaving foam I have tried. Delivers what it promises. I haven't bought this calendar for my husband, even though I've really, really wanted to. So I have to say a few words to those considering buying it. 🏆 I've looked at all the products and I think they all seem great, and some of them I KNOW are. There are well-known brands and some less known, but none of poor quality. 🏆 I also like that there's an electric toothbrush included. That was a fun twist. The perfumes from Nõberu also have very good scents, masculine but fresh. 🏆 There's no typical calendar filler here, like Christmas decorations or scented candles. 😔 But I've realized how hard it is to please all men with a beauty and wellness advent calendar, or a By Lyko Lovables for men for that matter. 😔 My husband doesn't have hair on his head! And that's not unusual for an adult man. In this calendar, I've counted 8 hair products for men. All good. 😔 Other men again don't have beards. And there are three beard products. Also good products. 😔 So if a man has neither beard nor hair on his head, there's not much calendar left. 🏆 I understand it has to be that way. But on the positive side, there's no lubricant included. For many, it's uncomfortable to buy that for, for example, a younger family member. 🎁 But I really recommend it to those who want to buy an advent calendar for a man, whether it's a son, a nephew, a dad, or their loved one. If he has a beard and hair on his head, that is. 🎁 Well, I don't have many problems in life when I get frustrated over an advent calendar. But it is so incredibly nice. This almost got too exciting!
🎁 But I managed to order, and I hope everything goes as it should. I won’t take anything for granted until I get the notification that it has been shipped. 🎁 I picked out this calendar early because I have grown very fond of K-beauty products. So many nice things! 🎁 And this is a calendar I won’t open all at once, but one door at a time. That’s how the first 24 days of December will start in a nice way. 🎁 It might seem expensive, and I was in doubt, but I know I will get a lot of joy from it. 🎁 I know unfortunately not everyone will get it. I have experienced that myself with previous calendars from LYKO, so that’s why I’m extra happy now. 🎁 When I get the calendar in the mail, I will hide it in the storage room and try to forget its contents.
