A new step in my skincare routine ✨
I have pretty dry skin that I usually pump with moisture during the winter months. This essence left a moist film on the skin that made it easier to rehydrate and more receptive to my usual face cream. The consistency is a bit sticky and thick, so the product is economical and lasts a long time. It's important to remember to let it sink in for a while before moving on to the next step in your skincare 🌸 The scent is fresh and a bit powdery. A bit of a prickly “shampoo-soap scent” 🧼
As a #lykotestpilot, I unfortunately haven’t been able to use this very often due to the scent and some irritation. The product contains several fragrance ingredients, and the first thing I reacted to was the scent itself. I find it a bit prickly, sharp, and unpleasant. Unexpectedly “soapy,” with a bit of a cleansing scent, like shampoo/soap, but also somewhat floral and perfumed at the same time. It can be described as fresh, but unfortunately not a favorite in an essence I want to apply generously. (As a preference, I also dislike the scent in the Hyal-Reyouth toner from Dr Ceuracle for the same reason). 🧼🙅🏻♀️ I probably expected a softer floral scent or maybe more plum-like (since the bottle is pink and has “plum extract”) 🌸💜 Application: I have used it as a toner. The consistency is like a mix between toner and serum. A “slippery” feeling at first, reminded me a bit of the Snail Mucin Essence I recently tried – but more watery and not “stringy.” Sticky for the first minute, but dries quickly (about 5 minutes). Since I like to apply several layers of my toner/essence, I tried two layers – very moisture-saturated skin then, almost like the skin gets a moisture-binding “film.” 💧 When I apply my serums over it, I get a more moisture-saturated and humectant-heavy feeling faster than usual. (Usually, I love the plumping effect from hyaluronic acid in serums and can apply generously, but didn’t quite get the same feeling here 💧) Irritation: The scent lingers for a long time, at least 30 minutes. Together with the “Revitalising Day Cream,” it was way too many fragrance ingredients for me, and my skin became red, irritated, and itchy (especially where I had active acne). I also experience some irritation from this essence alone. 🔴 Skin type: 34 years old, combination: surface dry + a bit oily T-zone during the day. Have acne. And fine lines that I like to plump. Can sometimes be a bit sensitive, especially to strong scents on the face. I will not continue using the product. "Plump your skin with moisture" 💧
This essence comes in a light pink bottle, in typical Emma S sleek design ✨️ The essence itself is clear and runny in consistency, with a slightly "slimy" quality; if you've tried snail essence before, it's close in texture. The scent was the most unexpected part for me – not at all what I expected. It smells almost like the classic Dove bar soaps, in that powdery, floral, clean, and cozy way. It will also last a long time with its 150 ml, which is a plus! I got to try this facial toner as a Lyko test pilot and was really positively surprised. My skin is normal to combination and can get dry at times, very dry especially around the mouth. But this product helped quickly and made the skin soft again. It was perfect timing that I got this product along with Emma S. Cleansing Gel and day cream just when my skin started feeling bad. ❤️ It has a light gel-like consistency, more like "water" that absorbs quickly, and I apply it with a cotton pad which works great. It has become a natural part of my skincare routine that I will continue with. I also think it fits especially well during winter when the skin needs more hydration. Nice Essence 💦
My skin is very dry, so I have several steps with moisture both morning and evening! I use an essence as step two after cleansing and usually have a very light preparatory toner before my essence. But I have tried this essence both directly on the skin and after the very light toner. This essence has a slightly different thickness compared to my previous "regular" essence. It is lighter but still thicker than a regular toner. Think more melted popsicle. I like it and have decided to use it during the day and that it works well without a preparatory toner underneath. The essence is light enough that it still absorbs well into the skin and suits daytime when makeup sits more easily on top of slightly thinner layers of moisture underneath. Now we are also in the brighter period of the year when sunscreen is applied layer upon layer during the day. This essence provides good moisture and feels nice to use. I get a feeling that it has something more than "just" hyaluronic acids and it also contains protective antioxidants, great! It protects the skin from free radicals. I've had the chance to try this lovely and moisturizing essence from #emmas, it is enriched with two different hyaluronic acids and provides incredible hydration and radiance to the skin. It feels like a great addition to my already existing skincare routine. I use this on cleansed skin and pat in as many layers as I feel my skin needs, followed by a serum and a cream to lock in the moisture. The texture is perfect, a bit thicker than many other essences and not so watery, which is a big plus for me. The scent is mild and the packaging works really well too. Nice consistency but not moisturizing enough
I was selected to test some products from #emmas – wonderful! About me: almost 38 years old, (even though my mind says 20 🤷🏻♀️) where age starts to show in the form of fine lines around the eyes and some deeper ones on the forehead. I have a combination skin type with an oily T-zone but drier and somewhat red cheeks. I'm not super sensitive but can sometimes react to e.g. retinol or strongly fragranced skincare. I have used this essence basically every morning and evening for about a month. It’s not completely runny but has a more gel-like consistency, which I love! The packaging makes it easy to dispense into the hand or on a cotton pad, although I personally always prefer a pump for skincare products. It absorbs very quickly into the skin and leaves no sticky residue. I follow up with serum quite soon after applying the essence and it has already absorbed into the skin. However, despite the name, I feel it doesn’t provide enough moisture for me. It’s almost fragrance-free, and the little scent it has is very light and fresh and just a “clean product.” Overall, I generally think Emma S is a bit overpriced. This is because I haven’t been blown away by any of the products I’ve tested, although some have been okay – including this essence. But on the whole, I find it pleasant, it absorbs quickly but hasn’t done anything remarkable for my skin during the trial period, and I have other essences I prefer to use – e.g. The Body Shop’s Edelweiss Prep Essence or Dr Ceuracle’s Vegan Active Berry First Essence. Very nice essence
I have had the chance to try this essence for a few weeks and am impressed with the product. When it comes to toners and essences, I love those that are a bit thicker in consistency, and this is one of them. I like to apply it directly on the skin and not with a cotton pad because I feel the product lasts longer and the skin becomes more hydrated. Nice ingredients like hyaluronic acid and plum extract. I guess the latter also contributes to the scent. I usually avoid skincare with perfume and fragrance, but I liked this one anyway. I have a combination skin type. A bit dry on the surface and oilier T-zone. have tested this INCREDIBLE essence for a few weeks! Don’t even know where to start but I love this. Regular ones are usually incredibly runny and it feels like most of it runs out of the hand BUT emma S has thought it through! This one has a thicker consistency that makes it incredibly easy to work with and moisturizes like a dream! Quick about my skin • gets slightly red • dry • approaching 40 with fine lines • some areas incredibly dry The bottle itself is okay, but it’s the content you want!
