Power in a bottle 💜
I’ve been lucky enough to try this perfume, and right when I opened the box, my first impression was – wow, what a bottle, the purple color really signals luxury. Really elegant, I would say!! The scent opens with a very intense and clear note of plum, which at first felt a bit heavy and strong for me, as it only took one spray. But if you give it a little time, it settles beautifully and the vanilla sneaks in and softens everything. I think it feels like a very warm and deep, sensual scent that lasts a very long time. I would say it feels like a perfume for confident women. It gives a lot of “power” in its scent and, in my opinion, works as an evening perfume when you want to feel a little extra. Not something I would use every day, as I prefer lighter perfumes then. But overall, a fantastic bottle with a mysterious and at the same time fruity scent, I really like it and will definitely use it on special occasions. I became sensitive to certain scents 😭 My absolute favorite is Black Opium. Yves Saint Laurent. Very heavy and mature fragrance
🙋🏼♀️About my personal perfume preferences I like fragrances that feel light and fresh, for example, nutty, citrusy, fruity and sweet perfumes. 📦 The bottle The bottle looks stylish and luxurious with some kind of "studs" on it. The deep purple color of the perfume makes it look special. The bottle is also quite heavy and sturdy, which gives it a premium feeling. Another detail I really like is that the glass is transparent enough to see how much perfume is left inside. 👃 The smell The scent was quite heavy and intense, and for me it leans toward a more mature style of perfume. The vanilla base note of the perfume was actually very pleasant and that part of the fragrance I enjoyed the most. However, the overall composition felt a bit overwhelming and extremely heavy on my skin. Instead of feeling light and fresh, I felt that the scent just got more rich, heavy and dense as time went by, which may be great for people who enjoy bold evening fragrances. But for me, it felt slightly too heavy and not as easy to wear. 🤔 My opinion This perfume comes in a beautiful bottle and with a warm vanilla base that many people might like. For those who love strong floral perfumes with bold notes, it could be a great choice. Great evening fragrance! 💜
If you like sweeter scents and are looking for a fragrance suitable for winter/evening use, this one is a winner for you! I've always liked Valentino's fragrances, and my go-to has been Born in Roma Donna (original). So this new release arrived at the right place and got good use! The scent definitely has vanilla and plum. I also found out that its heart notes are osmanthus and leather. So it's a somewhat deeper fragrance, which I think suits evening or winter well. Of course, I've also worn it during the day if I was in the mood. The scent lasts well, and for me, a sign of a quality fragrance is this scenario: I sprayed the fragrance in the morning and only went to work out in the evening. When sweating, the perfume scent rises again even though I no longer smelled it on myself in the afternoon. This situation also happened with this perfume! 👏🏼 The perfume bottle is beautiful and practical, typical for Valentino's Born in Roma line. The spray works well and dispenses the product appropriately. I don't give the fragrance 5 stars because it is *not, in my opinion,* the best fragrance ever made. A very sophisticated perfume
I have tested Born in Roma Purple Melancholia Eau de Parfum for about four weeks, and it is a scent that truly makes an impression. For me, who has difficulty finding perfumes as scents often change a lot on my skin, I was curious to see how this would develop over time. This is a rich and sophisticated scent that absolutely does not feel cheap. It opens fruity and warm, then develops into a deeper and creamy vanilla base. On my skin, it becomes quite intense, which makes me prefer to use it sparingly – 1-2 sprays are plenty. However, what is very good is that it lasts a long time, which shows how good the quality is. The bottle is incredibly beautiful and feels luxurious, which elevates the whole experience. The scent lasts long and suits both day and evening, but perhaps especially when you want to feel a little extra dressed up. Cozy, but maybe not Valentino’s best?
I’ve been #lykotestpilot for #valentino Purple Melancholia for a few weeks now! My all-time favorite perfume is otherwise Valentino’s Green Stravaganza, I’m very fond of jasmine. So it was really fun to try a new Valentino! And let’s put it this way. If Green Stravaganza is the perfect everyday perfume, then Purple Melancholia is the perfect weekend perfume! This one feels more feminine and floral, the vanilla stands out and gives that cozy feeling. With Green Stravaganza, many sprays were needed, but with this one 1-2 sprays are enough. And I find that this one lasts longer. I really like the perfume, but I don’t think it tops Green Stravaganza after all. But sometimes you want a change, especially on days when something special happens. Then I will choose this bottle first. My husband’s rating: “It’s good but a bit heavy. A bit musky. It smells nice, but it’s not the best you’ve had. I have been so lucky to test this perfume from #valentino as #lykotestpilot for a few weeks now! I am a 35-year-old woman who generally really likes perfumes. My absolute favorites (at least right now) are Burberry Goddess, Marc Jacobs Absolute Perfect, Gucci Flora, and Kayali Vanilla 28. So I quite like sweet perfumes. I was sooo happy when I found out that this was exactly the one I would get to test. I have never tried a perfume from Valentino, so I was mildly very excited! I think the design of the bottle is completely unique. It looks really luxurious, I think. I especially like the leather detail! This is one of the perfumes I have that looks best on the shelf😊 My first impression of the scent was surprising, I think. It clearly smells of plum, in a good and sweet way. After a while, the scent settles and becomes more spicy and floral in a way (hard to explain😂) before the vanilla comes and calms everything down. Really a pleasant scent from start to finish! I don’t think it’s particularly heavy, but this is definitely a scent you wear in the evening! I’ve been so lucky to get to test Valentino’s new perfume, Born in Roma Purple Melancholia💜 With prominent notes of plum, osmanthus, and vanilla, this is an incredibly fruity and fresh scent. The vanilla adds depth, making the fragrance still feel elegant and sensual. It lasts a long time, which is a big plus! It feels a bit heavy right after application but settles very nicely after a short while. The scent is strong, so it’s not recommended if you’re a bit sensitive to heavier perfumes. The perfect mix of freshness and vanilla dream! 💜
So, when I first opened the package, my first thought was: LUXURY LUXURY LUXURY! 😍 The bottle feels so insanely exclusive and really elevates the whole experience. From the first spray and weeks ahead, I've gotten a real luxury boost every morning! ✨ The first spray is intense and takes up space immediately – something I personally love. It gives a fresh kick while having that weight you want before a night out 🖤 After a while, the vanilla starts to come through and the scent becomes softer, warmer, and more “seductive.” That's also something I really like: first fresh and lively, then floral and fresh, and finally a warm vanilla base that just sits so nicely on the skin. I received Valentino's new Born in Roma Donna Purple Melancholia perfume from Lyko to test. I've been testing it for about 2 weeks now. First of all, I want to praise the bottle's design! It's beautiful, and the purple hue of the perfume makes it especially striking. I also like that you can easily see how much product is left in the bottle. The scent clearly stands out from the traditional, often vanilla-based Born in Roma Donna perfumes. The top note has a strong plum, which makes the scent unique and exudes confidence. The intensity of the fragrance makes it quite seductive, and in my opinion, it suits best for evening use. Additionally, the perfume lasts long on both skin and clothes 👌 As summer approaches, I usually choose lighter scents, so this might not be my top choice for the season. The plum note wasn't my personal favorite either, but the scent develops beautifully! After about an hour, a pleasant vanilla emerges. At this stage, the scent resembles more the traditional versions of the series, which I like. This is definitely a perfume worth trying, even if it might not be to everyone's taste. Lovely scent – but not necessarily at first sniff
I had smelled this once when I got a sample somewhere, and I remembered that I didn’t like it, even though the original Born In Roma is one of my favorites. When I got a message from LYKO that I had won a giveaway looking for product testers, I of course decided to give this scent a new chance. The initial scent is strongly plum (which probably also explains the color 🤪), and that was almost all I smelled at first, and based on that I thought I wouldn’t like it. Luckily, I had decided to wear the scent on my skin for several days before writing the review, because only on the skin did the heart notes (fragrance oil, also plum-like) and ESPECIALLY the base note, vanilla, come into their own. 👀💜 Now I’m totally in love with this scent, and it doesn’t “hit your nose” right away when you put it on. But a tip: give it a chance to mature on your skin first, try testing it several times and keep it on your skin for several hours. I got to test this lovely Valentino fragrance. At first, this scent has a fairly strong and even masculine aroma. The scent is mature and somewhat reminds me of an "old lady's" fragrance😆 After a while, I think a more berry-like and softer scent emerges! Clearly plum and a hint of vanilla are the last notes in the fragrance. The bottle's appearance is really nice, and the color, in my opinion, reflects the scent well. Personally, I prefer clearly softer scents.
