    Miracle cure?..

I’m almost done with my second bottle of this COSRX serum and thought I’d share some thoughts. A little skin-files: 45 years old, usually dry and sensitive, yet an active user of prescription retinoids for the past few years 😜 This is, as the name suggests, a "peptide skin booster" and should be taken for what it actually is - primarily a booster that increases the moisture level in the skin. It’s that simple. For what do peptides do? Well, primarily, they increase the moisture level in the skin. They will not erase wrinkles, they will not change the skin overnight (or over the weekend if you will :) The main function of the peptides is to ensure a solid moisture level in the skin's upper layer. There are also many other things these fantastic peptides are supposed to do, but do they really do that? Maybe. Hard to say, because those who say the most about the positive effects and functions of peptides are indeed... the manufacturers themselves. Sure, there are some scattered studies and research on this, but again - these are mostly conducted by the manufacturers themselves and this means that one should take these claims with a grain of salt. I certainly do :) This serum has not been bad, on the contrary! Therefore - five stars out of five. And when you look at the price and how economical the product can be - a home run! But that’s because I consider the product to be a solid hyaluronic acid serum and have replaced my long-time favorite from Vichy with this. I don’t expect it to do much more than provide good moisture without irritating the skin and I prefer to use it on damp skin before I put on a sheet mask (almost daily). The serum is also fragrance-free - another big plus. Other than that - I rarely use it on "naked" skin, because I like to use serums with a bit more active ingredients when it’s going to sit on the skin all day long (or all night long :) And what about these peptides then? 🧐 Yes, they can absolutely have something to offer. And speaking of moisture... when there’s a good moisture level in the skin, it will look younger and function better (read: stronger skin barrier). The absorption of other active ingredients will also most likely increase, elasticity will improve, texture will appear smoother, etc. It’s particularly these six peptides that take center stage in this product... SH-Polypeptide: synthetically produced, some studies have shown that it may possibly slow the development of new lines and wrinkles (not the same as removing already existing wrinkles! Don’t get you fooled, girl 😜) Copper Tripeptide: this is a so-called "signal peptide" that (theoretically) works to reduce the inflammation level in the skin, and in that way - improve the skin barrier, smooth out the texture, etc. Oligopeptide-68: theoretically has a skin-brightening effect (more even skin tone, fewer pigment spots) (continued follows 😜)

A push-up bra for your eyes?... Well...

Another review from the ingredient nerd 🤓🧖‍♀️ after trying this eye mask. I use face masks both sheet masks and "cream masks" (read: cream consistency) pretty much every day. Especially in the morning. I imagine that my 45-year-old, winter-weary skin will thank me for it. Someday in the future :) I received this one as a gift and was a bit excited to try it even though I prefer a sheet mask that covers the entire face including the area under the eyes. More for the money 😍, but as one of my favorite skinfluencers has said... "good eye patches are really like a push-up bra". Is that IT?? Well... in the pictures you see a tired toddler mom on a Sunday morning. I haven't done anything with my skin other than rinse my eyes with cold water and put in my lenses. Voila! The first impression is that the pads are moist and there is a lot of essence that they can soak in. That's a plus. It's boring to discover a dry sheet mask, because that has also happened. It's a bit difficult to fish them out of the packaging (see video) both because they are a bit thin and because there is no "plastic tray" that such eye masks usually sit on in the packaging. Feels good on the skin, it seems like they provide good moisture and don't get "dry" on the skin quickly. You should have them on for 10 min., but I had mine on for at least 20 min. and there was still plenty of essence left on the skin when I removed the pads. Since this dried a bit more on the skin, there was a sort of tacky layer left on the skin, but this can probably be fixed by applying face and/or eye cream if you use a separate eye cream. I personally always wash my face after having a sheet mask on. Always. This is because I don't want to risk leaving alcohol on the skin if it is on the ingredient list. For me, sheet masks (also eye patches like these) are part of my relaxation in a busy everyday life, and I don't expect these to perform miracles. If you've had them in the fridge overnight, they might do something for puffy morning face 😂 not much more than that, after all, they are only on the skin for 10-15-20 min. So... a bit about the ingredient list from the ingredient nerd. It was a bit strange, but I found "alcohol" on the ingredient list on the Norwegian websites (including on lyko.com under "ingredients"), but couldn't see it when I double-checked the ingredient list on sensai.com/. Not too big of a point for me since I wash my face with cold water after a sheet mask anyway before applying serum. If you like to pat the essence into your skin after your sheet mask and just leave it on the skin, be aware of that if you have particularly sensitive skin. The essence also contains koishimaru silk just like Sensai's eye balm (see my review where I gave 4 stars out of 5) which is moisturizing. Sodium hyaluronate (SH) which has smaller molecules and penetrates deeper than hyaluronic acid (HA), thus is better absorbed by the skin and is more moisturizing. It also has niacinamide which has a soothing and strengthening effect on the skin, can also brighten dark spots, but it is unclear what concentration is used in this essence as it should be between 2% and 5% to be effective, while higher concentrations can quickly irritate if you have more sensitive skin. Another somewhat exciting ingredient is "aminobutyric acid" which is found on the ingredient list and is a "rising star" and rumored to have a Botox-like effect on the skin. All in all - a pretty okay eye mask, even better if you have it in the fridge overnight. Is 2 x10 worth your hard-earned, expensive 1500 kr.? Well... that's up to you 😊, while for me it will probably just be this trial mask. Good night 🌚🌖🌙 #lykomission #lykoreview #ikkesponset #konkurranseinflutester

Drunk Elephant... don’t get me started 😅

I’ve been using this for so many years that I could talk and write about it for hours. So, girl, don’t get me started! 😁 Amino acids, probiotics, a whole 9 signal peptides, over 12 moisturizing ingredients. This cream has it all and more... fragrance-free and silicone-free like other Drunk Elephant products. Airtight jar. Gel-like consistency that feels neither sticky nor greasy. On the contrary - it feels rich, yet not heavy on the skin. Absorbs well but leaves the skin hydrated all day long (I’ve used this as a day cream over my C vitamin or other serum). Calms my sensitive skin during the times when I’ve gone a bit "bananas" with retinoids or C vitamin 👀🫡, thanks in part to water lily (waterlilly), which is said to have a very good effect on sensitive and easily irritated skin... could brag for days... A couple of things to consider and possibly be aware of if you’re thinking about this: - long ingredient list always increases the chance that your skin may react to some of the ingredients - GF (so-called growth factors) are also found on the ingredient list, and I personally try (usually :) to avoid products with GF. First of all, the question is how and if these are absorbed into the skin? Do they even do that? If the answer is yes - is this safe in the long run? The research in this area is not unanimous. Anyway folks - this is Drunk Elephant’s best-selling star - and THERE are many good reasons for that, I would say 😊❤️ #konkurranseinflutester #lykomission #ikkesponset #lykoreview

A good choice at the right price!

I've been using this and I'm really happy with it, but there are certain caveats 😁 First, I use this as a finishing step on the evenings (read: almost every evening:) when I use prescription retinoid. I prefer the latter on "bare", dry, and of course freshly cleansed skin. I let the retinoid work for about 20 minutes before finishing the session with a dollop of "LaLa" 😁 Secondly, this is quite a bit richer than their bestseller Protini Polypeptide cream. If you find the "protini" variant heavy and rich, you should be cautious with the "LaLa" variant. Thirdly, this is a good cream that helps maintain a healthy skin barrier thanks to fatty acids (caprylic / capric triglyceride) and some skin-softening ingredients like isopropyl/isostearate. In addition to ceramides (AP, EOP, and NP), but it should be noted that the latter are quite far down the ingredient list. Fourthly, it contains 5 different oils bl.a/. my favorite - marula oil, so if you have skin that is very prone to acne breakouts, you should try it first before purchasing the full size. That's what I would have done. Much more than this 👆 it probably won't do, and if you think the price is steep for an ok moisturizer, you can always try CeraVe, which uses the same ceramides - and also often ranks higher on the ingredient list. As for me... 😊 I'm quite satisfied with the choice and will buy it again! I forgot to add that I am 45 years old and have basically dry skin that retinol➡️retinal➡️ and finally prescription retinoid have worked wonders for! #lykoreview #konkurranseinflutester #ikkesponset #lykomission

The best cleanser for sensitive skin in the world

The best, most gentle, creamy, and effective cleanser I have been able to find in the last 20 years. I am 45 years old and can't imagine a better cleanser for mature, sensitive skin. I see that some complain about the smell, but this one is not scented with synthetic fragrance, maybe that's why it has a somewhat characteristic smell that doesn't bother me. I have sensitive skin to begin with, and this is probably the cleansing milk of my life 😄😁😂 I got a bit panicked now as I read that the brand is supposed to disappear from the Norwegian market! 🫢 I feel like the products have started to disappear from the pharmacies around... so I guess it's just time to stock up, folks! 😁😅 I've never reacted to this and I use a lot of prescription retinoic acid, vitamin C, etc. And there is nothing that calms my skin in the evening after a long day like this... Take the day off 🌏🌑🌘🌛 #konkurranseinflutester #ikkesponset #lykomission #lykoreview

Yaaaaa! And it is so gentle on the skin that it can also be used on children instead of soap if the soap becomes too irritating for sensitive children's skin.

A must in your skincare routine!🧖‍♀️

A must when you remove your makeup at night! It stays where it should be, not too wide and not too narrow. The first step in my skincare routine simply 😊😁 #konkurranseinflutester #lykomission #ikkesponset #lykoreview

    The POWERHOUSE of Skincare #konkurranseinflutester

It's hard not to be tempted when Medik8 creates such a powerhouse like this! My journey with Medik8 started with the Retinal products that I adore to this day. Out of pure curiosity, I bought this serum as I wanted to find an effective morning serum under my day cream. AND MY OH MY! Already the next day (day 2 with this serum) I noticed that my winter-tired skin was glowing well in the afternoon. And believe me! This was not because of the obligatory 8 hours of sleep (read: the life of a parent). Anyway... Whether this was Matrixyl 3000 or encapsulated copper peptides (or an upgraded next-generation hyaluronic acid) found on the ingredient list, I don't know. One thing is for sure, there are few products that will make you look as rested and fresh as this black jar. That this serum is not sold out everywhere is a miracle, everyone needs it in their bathroom, I would say! One last note - if you are sensitive to scents, try it first as the scent itself can remind a bit of Skinceuticals CE Ferulic serum. Never been a problem for me, but very sensitive noses should be aware of that! :) #konkurranseinflutester #ikkesponset #lykomission #lykoreview

    RUN AND BUY! #konkurranseinflutester

I’m probably above average happy with good eye creams and skincare in general :) I’ve been using various eye creams since I was 20 and now I’m 45. And no, eye creams are not necessary in your skincare routine, but every time I ran out of my favorite eye cream for a few days, I used to get asked by my colleagues at work... "..did you sleep poorly?.. you look tired" :-D This eye balm is not sponsored, but I still say run and buy! It’s not very wallet-friendly, but it’s far from brands like LaMer and LaPrairie price-wise and does a much better job than those, in my opinion. It provides good moisture that lasts throughout the day, if you have mature skin like I do. An eye balm to be, it has a very pleasant consistency that also works well under eye makeup as a potential primer thanks to dimethicone (a skin-friendly silicone polymer). Koishimaru silk that helps stimulate the production of hyaluronic acid, niacinamide that helps brighten the skin around the eyes, even out skin tone, are also some of the ingredients. The balm is best suited as a day cream since it won’t do much if you want to combat the wrinkles around the eyes more actively. Then you need more powerful artillery.. but that’s not what it’s supposed to do either. For me, it should provide good moisture all day long without irritating my contact lens-wearing eyes, and it does that thanks to glycerin. A small minus for alcohol that I find on the product's ingredient list, but fortunately, it’s a bit further down and can’t be considered one of the main ingredients. All in all - a very good eye balm that will probably not disappoint you despite the somewhat stiff price :-) RUN and BUY! #lykomission #konkurranseinflutester #ikkesponset #lykoreview
