Love!
I have extremely flaky lips and I’m honestly a bit of a junkie when it comes to lip products – I try almost everything. The Ordinary PHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum was therefore a really fun discovery for me. I use it about three times a week, and I find that it really helps to soften my lips and reduce that dry, flaky skin that I easily get. It feels gentle on the lips but still makes a difference over time. At the same time, it provides good hydration, which I really appreciate since many exfoliating lip products can feel a bit drying. For me, it has become a really good addition to my lip routine when I want to get rid of the flakes and make my lips soft again. #LYKOINFLUTESTER #THEORDINARY450 views - Most helpful negativeThe user's roll: Lyko Creator. Lip Exfoliator
Pretty okay serum! It works ok for my winter-dry lips. But the applicator taste is not really for me. Difficult to apply since it is more runny than serum-like. A bit expensive for the usage. Tastes sour and smells like acid. That's a huge ick for me, so it won't get more than 2 stars. - The post was made 3 daysRating: 4 out of 5verified customer
Works well
The first lip product that has worked for me. As you can see in the picture, chapping and dryness of the lips decreased already after one use. 😍 I use this a couple of times a week always overnight, keeps lips moisturized 24/7 and gives a lovely natural and plump look. 4/5! ⭐67 views - The user's roll: Lyko Creator. Good for the lips!
Have tested #theordinary's lip exfoliating serum, first impression is that this is a lot of product for the money considering the size!💋 I have winter-dry lips and have used this every night as a base under lip balm. It has a pipette that makes it easy to apply a small amount, only a small drop of this is needed✨It dries quickly and forms a thin layer which makes it easy to apply lip balm over! The taste and smell are a bit off as it has a sour scent/taste, but that makes it perfect to apply at night. I think this has helped me with winter-dry lips, so it will be exciting to test it going forward towards summer (but remember SPF as well!)💕 #lykoinflutester231 views - The user's roll: Lyko Creator. Love it!
This serum is truly a little game-changer for dry lips! ✨ The best part is how it exfoliates completely without you having to scrub! The acids do the job super gently and even out the lips on their own. Perfect when the lips easily become flaky or dull. The formula is thin but still really moisturizing thanks to glycerin and ectoin, which both bind moisture and strengthen the barrier. The result is smoother, softer, and more glowing lips that feel fuller even without product. 💗 A slight tangy taste may pop up, but it’s just the acids working. Perfect to use overnight with a balm on top for extra soft lips. 💕 #lykoinflutester #theordinary238 views - The post was made 2 weeksRating: 4 out of 5Verifierad testare
So much moisture 👄
I have been using the PHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum for a while, and it has become a staple in my evening routine! The serum is designed to provide gentle exfoliation while also adding moisture, and I find that it makes my lips noticeably softer and smoother with regular use. It also helps my lips feel more hydrated and strengthens the skin barrier. The product works especially well as part of the evening routine. Applied before bedtime, it gives my lips good care throughout the night, and I often wake up with lips that feel smoother and more well-cared-for. The consistency is pleasant, and the serum applies like a nourishing layer without feeling too sticky. Pros:➕ Provides a lot of moisture and contributes to smoother and softer lips Feels strengthening for the lips' skin barrier Very nice to use in the evening for maximum overnight care Practical applicator that makes it easy to dose the right amount Cons:➖ Has a slightly sour taste Can be a bit cumbersome to use during the day All in all, this is a good care product for anyone looking for both gentle exfoliation and intensive moisture for the lips. #lykoinflutester #theordinary147 views - The user's roll: Lyko Creator. Amazing serum
I have had the honor of being a Lyko influtester to try this serum for the lips. This serum makes dry, flaky lips completely smooth and beautiful. I use this product as soon as I feel my lips getting dry, and it works wonders!! Now I walk around with smooth and beautiful lips all the time, I will definitely buy it when mine runs out!! #lykoinflutester #theordinary112 views - The user's roll: Lyko Creator. Mixed Feelings
As #LYKOINFLUTESTER I got to try this product from The Ordinary! I can start by saying that I might not be the best person to test this product, as I usually don’t suffer much from dry lips. Only sometimes in the winter can I get dry lips for a few days, but nothing extreme. I was still curious to try it, as it might help make my lips look fresher and more vibrant. The product comes in a bottle with a dropper. It has a light and runny consistency, and you only need a very small amount. When you apply it to your lips, it dries down pretty quickly. It causes a feeling of the lips pulling or tightening, and I can feel it all the time – which is what I really don’t like about it. Additionally, I find that it has a quite distinct taste. I’ve tried using it overnight, and the result isn’t bad. But it’s not so good that I would choose this product specifically for dry lips. I would rather use something that feels a bit more pleasant and moisturizing. However, I think it could be useful for someone who has more issues with very dry lips. In that case, it might be worth trying. #THEORDINARY244 views - The user's roll: Lyko Creator. The post was made 2 weeksRating: 2 out of 5Verifierad testare
Lip Exfoliator
I have been so lucky to test this product from The Ordinary. It is a chemical exfoliating lip serum with PHA (polyhydroxy acid) that is supposed to help remove dead skin cells and make the lips smoother and softer over time. At the same time, it also contains moisturizing ingredients that are supposed to help keep the lips hydrated. The product itself is thin and runny, which makes it a bit difficult to apply. The applicator does not make it easy to "spread" the product over the lips, as it comes in a glass bottle with a dropper. So I often ended up using my fingers to distribute it evenly on my lips, but the consistency really works against you. It is hard to dose the right amount, and because it was so runny, it dripped a little into my mouth over time - not a pleasant taste! I experienced a bit of stinging upon application, but nothing that felt uncomfortable – and that is quite normal since this is actually an exfoliating product. If you have very dry or cracked lips, it might feel a bit more, so be careful! The product should be applied and allowed to absorb without being washed off, which feels a bit unusual for an exfoliator. I didn’t notice any special results after use, but it could be the fault of the season. I really like the products from The Ordinary, and some of my staple products come from there - and their price range is unmatched. The idea behind this product is interesting, but for me, the applicator and consistency could have been a bit more user-friendly. With a few small adjustments, I think this could become a real favorite product #LYKOINFLUTESTER #THEORDINARY85 views - The post was made 2 weeksRating: 2 out of 5Verifierad testare
Cool idea, little result
I have been so lucky to test 3 different products from The Ordinary through Lyko's influtester program, this was one of them. This was perhaps the product I was most curious about, as the idea of a chemical peel for the lips sounds quite exciting. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. For one, the serum has a rather unpleasant taste and smell. This makes it not very pleasant to use, especially since it naturally ends up a bit on the inside of the lips throughout the day. The effect itself was also quite minimal. I didn't notice any clear difference in how soft or smooth the lips became, even after regular use. The consistency also felt a bit sticky and sat on the lips for a long time without properly absorbing. Overall, this product felt a bit unnecessary in my routine. A regular lip balm gave me about the same result, without the weird taste. #LYKOINFLUTESTER #THEORDINARY #LYKOREVIEW67 views - The post was made 2 weeksRating: 3 out of 5Verifierad testare
It works but is an unnecessary product
This serum absolutely works. But I think my old regular routine for exfoliating my lips works better. I use a scrub glove or my finger and gently rub on my lips while I shower. Then a lip balm afterwards. I really don’t think it’s necessary to have a serum to exfoliate your lips. It actually gives me a bit of discomfort since you get the product in your mouth and swallow some. But it definitely works against dry, flaky lips. Lovely for lips after wintertime
I often have dry lips, with a lot of loose skin. This serum is so different. Maybe a bit more runny than I would have liked, and I don't like the smell, but it works! The lips become softer, even though it stings a bit. For me, I felt like I had to use it several times before I really noticed a difference. Makes lip balm sit better, and especially lipstick. I like it, and will buy it again! I use it in the shower. Easy to apply without mess. I have also used other products in the series along with this one. The other products I have tested are: 🌿Volufiline* 92% 2B Pal-Isoleucine 1% 15 ml, Art no: 2328-204-0015 🌿Natural Moisturizing Factors 2B Phytoceramides 30 ml, Art no: 3867-102-0030 ➕ Makes lips noticeably more hydrated over time ➕ Makes lips nice under lipstick/lip balm ➕ Not too "harsh", and feels gentle on the lips, even though it stings/pricks a bit ➖ I wish it wasn't as runny ➖ Smells like vinegar, which I'm not so fond of In the pictures, the serum looks pink, but it is transparent. #lykoinflutester #theordinary167 views
The OrdinaryPHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum 15 ml
PHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum is a gentle chemical-based exfoliator for lips with 5% gluconolactone and 1.5% alpha hydroxy acids to smooth and hydrate lips. Gluconolactone is a polyhydroxy acid (PHA) that works to dissolve the structures that hold dead skin cells together. Due to their larger molecular weight, PHAs work on the surface of the skin to offer mild exfoliation, making them suitable for sensitive skin.
This formulation also includes a high concentration (>50%) of glycerin to improve hydration and retain moisture as well as ectoin to support the skin barrier and offer long-term hydration. PHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum helps to promote skin renewal on the lips to improve their overall appearance and texture over time.
PHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum can be layered under Squalane + Amino Acids Lip Balm to gently remove dry, dead skin and hydrate lips overnight.
Note: You may notice a slightly tangy taste when using this product. This comes from the exfoliating acids which help to gently renew and smooth lips.
Testing shows:
- Gentle Exfoliation: Gently exfoliates and smooths lips while respecting the barrier
- Smoothness: Promotes skin renewal for smoother-looking lips.
- Shine: Gives lip a more radiant shine
- Hydration: Increases moisture content by 30%* for plumper lips even when bare*
*Clinical testing on 22 subjects after using product 3x/week for 2 weeks.
How to Use:
Apply to the lips. The Ordinary recommends applying a thin layer every other evening, 2–3 times per week, to reduce the risk of irritation. The product works as a gentle treatment to help achieve softer, smoother lips without harsh scrubbing.
Always apply SPF to the lips the following day, as the skin may be more sensitive to the sun.
