✨🤎 A highlighter for that really beautiful glow!
I’ve really fallen for the NYX Buttermelt Highlighter in 1.5 U Butta Werk! This is the kind of highlighter I like to bring out when I want my makeup to look a bit more glowy and luxurious without it being too much. The first thing I like is the formula itself. It feels so soft when you work with it, and I think it blends really nicely into the rest of the base. It doesn’t feel like the highlighter is just sitting as a separate layer on top of the skin. ✨ I usually apply it on the cheekbones, a little on the bridge of the nose, and sometimes just above the lip when I want a bit of extra glow. And here I really think a little product goes a long way. 😂 It’s so easy to build up the intensity instead of starting with way too much. What I like the most is how the light hits the highlighter. I get a really nice, glowy effect when I move, but I still think it can be kept quite natural if I use a lighter hand. 🤍 I also think it works well together with the rest of the Buttermelt products. When blush, bronzer, and highlighter all have that same soft feel, I think the whole base looks more cohesive. And the shade Butta Werk is really a tone I can see myself using often. It doesn’t feel boring or flat but gives the face that little extra touch that makes the whole makeup feel more finished. 🥹✨ One small downside is really just that it’s easy to get a bit too enthusiastic with it. 😂 The first time I thought something like “a little more can’t hurt”… well, it could. Here, less really is more! But once you find the right amount, the result is so beautiful. Soft, glowy, and luxurious without feeling overdone. The purple one could be very nice, but it’s very glittery, and you’ll have your face full of glitter 😅 It should have the same texture as the pink one because that one is absolutely lovely. I have eczema on my face
So I mostly just want to apply a light shimmer over my whole face, does this work for that? I usually wear eyeshadows and blush, does this work for all of that? I have very dry, flaky skin with red eczema that I usually cover with shimmer powders of various kinds. The comment was made 4 monthsHi there Helena! 👋 This highlighter gives a very nice glow, but it is mainly designed to be used on specific parts of the face, like cheekbones, nose, or eyes, rather than all over the face 💫 Since it has quite a noticeable shimmer, unfortunately it can highlight dry patches and flaky skin, especially if you have eczema. It definitely works well with both eyeshadow and blush and gives a nice radiance as a finish, but for an even shimmer all over the face, I would instead recommend a more moisturizing and glow-enhancing product, such as a glow cream or a very finely milled powder.
