A cream for those who like a little glow
Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50 I have been testing this product for almost a month now. As a reference, I have a dry skin type. This is a day cream with SPF 50. SPF is a bonus but does not replace the use of sun protection. The cream comes in a pump bottle, which I find convenient as it reduces mess and simplifies dispensing. The cream has a pleasant scent but a slight scent of sun protection. It’s not overwhelming, but you can still feel that scent is there. The cream itself blends easily into the skin and moisturizes well. The finish is on the glossier side but less noticeable when fully absorbed. It might be a bit too rich for oilier skin types. The price is higher, and honestly, there are many good creams in lower price ranges that are just as effective. Luxurious Day Cream with SPF50
I have had the luxury of testing Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50 for a few weeks as Lyko’s test pilot. I find that the day cream ticks several boxes I look for in my skincare routine; moisturizing, ingredients with anti-aging properties, and high SPF. Smooth application with a pump bottle, the cream takes a while to absorb into the skin. The day cream leaves some shine but feels more like a radiance/glow and works well for my normal/dry skin type. I’m impressed that the day cream has SPF50 and I feel it provides good protection. When I’ve been in the sun, I have also applied sunscreen as extra protection. I feel my skin has gained more radiance and it feels hydrated and protected. A rare SPF day cream that is actually light!
Most skin creams with SPF are quite greasy, which gives me breakouts, but this one doesn’t! It’s not as light as gel creams, but it’s perfect for me with dry/normal skin. It’s easy to apply and absorbs quickly. I use this in the morning, and I don’t experience any issues with makeup. Doesn’t leave a white cast! The only thing to be aware of is that even though there is SPF in the skin cream, you still need to apply regular sunscreen in addition during summer/in heat. If you’re just going out for a quick trip, the cream alone is enough, but for longer periods sunscreen should also be used. I took this with me to the south and used it on my face before regular sunscreen. I highly recommend this as you get extra protection + moisture back into the skin (something you need after lots of sun and swimming!). The pump is very easy to use and perfect for travel. Although the product is very good, in my opinion the price is a bit too high for everyday use considering it’s only 50 ml. God, but ridiculously expensive
Got this as a Christmas gift. Very good and comfortable. But then it was empty and I thought I would buy it. But I discover that it is (for my finances) way too expensive - which automatically makes it bad. Best in class👩🏼🎓
I've been testing this for a few weeks and yes, I am converted! This is my new holy grail🏆 I have combination skin, a bit sensitive and quite dry when it starts to get cold🥶 My biggest problem with combination skin is finding something that provides good moisture to the areas that need it without getting oily in the rest of my face. This one does it all! I am a big fan of pump bottles, so I don't have to get bacteria in my moisturizer😌 The consistency is velvety soft and easy to massage into the skin, extra plus for drying quickly➕ A little minus for a bit of a weird smell, but it disappears quickly➖ The cream gives a light and natural glow, and my skin feels well moisturized all day🤩 And then we have the icing on the cake: it has sun protection🧴🌞 I prefer to keep my skincare to a minimal number of steps, at least in the morning (I usually run through the bathroom to make it to work hehe), so a moisturizer with sun protection is a sure winner for me🥇 The price is unfortunately steep, but the cream is economical in use and the results speak for themselves. It feels light on the skin and still provides good hydration, which I really appreciate in a day cream with SPF. Despite SPF50, it leaves no residue and works great under makeup, mega plus! Since I started using products from this line, my skin has generally felt better, much smoother, and more balanced! Face cream with proper SPF!
I've missed a face cream that isn't heavy even though it has a lot of SPF. I've tried different ones with high SPF before, but they have been too greasy and not comfortable on the skin (especially not under makeup). I think this one is good! It's one of the best I've had under makeup, but I still think it could absorb even better. It's not the best to have under makeup when I'm going for a full party look, as the foundation doesn't sit as well, but all in all, I'm quite satisfied. I really like the pump and the way the product comes out. The mechanism makes it easy to take the right amount, and not too much. It doesn't have a strong scent, but I think the smell is totally okay (white tea scent). I feel like my skin gets softer with this, and that it becomes more elastic. I think it seems like this component in my skincare routine (described below) has the most effect on softness/that the skin feels more elastic. I don't notice a reduction in fine lines yet, but maybe that will come in time. Very good day cream
I must admit that I am actually one of those who prefers day cream and sunscreen separately to ensure that I get good enough protection. Now that it is winter, such a product is still quite practical, as I have noticed that I often skip sunscreen and choose skin cream instead - and one should use sunscreen all year round :) I have gotten a very good impression of the cream. It applies nicely to the skin without whitecast, doesn't smell too much, and absorbs relatively quickly, but not completely. The skin is still a bit sticky a couple of minutes later, which I personally like, as it gives a nice glow and a good base for makeup to sit better throughout the day. Good ingredients and I can tell that my skin likes this. 1-2 pumps on the face is enough. Good multiproduct. A bit expensive for just a sunscreen, but one must take into consideration that this is also an active day cream. Then the price is quite reasonable. A small but here it is; the product contains a number of fragrance substances and may be irritating if you have sensitive skin, including limonene, which many can react to. There are also several oils, including clove oil.. Chemical sunscreen (Avobenzone + Octinoxate) - can be irritating if you have a compromised skin barrier after retinol, for example. So take another look at the ingredients if you are sensitive or acne-prone. A very nice day cream with SPF!
I got to try this nice day cream with SPF 50 from Dermalogica, and I really thought it was great!😄 I have combination skin that is a bit on the drier side now during the fall, and this cream has suited me very well.☺️ It comes in a convenient and practical packaging. Even though it has SPF 50, I don't think it smells like a sunscreen at all, but has a much fresher scent.😍 Two pumps are enough for the whole face. Afterwards, you get a lovely glow that I like.✨ There haven't been any problems with the makeup settling afterwards, which usually is a problem. Like it a lot - but the price..
I surprisingly like this day cream with SPF a lot. And by surprisingly, I mean that I haven't had any wow effect from Dermalogica products before…😬 It has a light and pleasant consistency that doesn't weigh down the skin, and it doesn't get sticky or tacky. The skin looks moist and radiant after application, and it gives a nice finish that works very well under makeup. It's also a big plus that it doesn't leave a white cast, which many sunscreens still struggle with. It moisturizes well while providing high UV protection in one and the same bottle – making it easy to use in everyday life. The scent is also much milder and less intense than other Dermalogica products I've tested, which makes the experience more positive. However, the skin does need to be a bit cooperative on some days. Sometimes it can feel tight, and sometimes it feels a bit oilier than usual. This doesn't happen often, but it occurs enough to be worth mentioning. Still, I've had a mostly positive experience with it. The biggest downside for me is the price. The bottle is small, the product runs out quickly, and that means I will most likely consider a more affordable alternative next time – even though I actually like this one a lot. All in all: A really good day cream with SPF that provides moisture, glow, and sun protection without a heavy feeling. LOVE this cream. During transitional periods like fall and spring, I quickly get dry and a bit dull skin. Therefore, I need a little extra moisture and nourishment without it being too heavy. This moisturizer has built-in SPF 50 and is meant for daytime, but still provides plenty of moisture. The skin surface feels super smooth and a bit firmer, it absorbs quickly and the makeup sits like a dream on top.
