Better than I dared hope for!
I was lucky enough to be assigned as a #lykoinflutester to try out a series of hair products from #WellaProfessionals. It's their Ultimate Smooth series, which includes shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, and hair serum. If you're curious about the other products, my reviews are up to read, but here we have now come to the last step, namely the Hair Serum ✨️ I have quite long hair, typically Scandinavian and bleached with color residues. I think my hair is healthy, and I have no problems with frizz or anything like that. Maybe I'm not the best test person, but I have tried 😊 And the truth is that my expectations were exceeded. Since I have "Scandinavian hair", it is already smooth and shiny. So dry shampoos and texture sprays are my type of products, and I have had a bit of fear that a hair serum would just enhance the smooth, shiny feeling and possibly make the hair feel greasy. So I haven't used any such product, and I don't use any heat tools, so I don't need any heat protection either. This hair serum is apparently a "hair oil in serum form", and I find it very light, which I like! I use it after I've washed my hair in towel-dried hair, take a few pumps, and spread it over the ends and lengths. Then I brush through and let it air dry. I think the serum disappears nicely into the hair, and I don't find it greasy! When it has dried, it also smells lovely of jasmine and vanilla, and just that is a reason for me to want to use it. I don't know if I can say that I've been won over to the other side and have now become a hair serum enthusiast, but I actually like this product. Smart and generous packaging, but I can't handle the scent....
Wella Professionals Ultimate Smooth Miracle Oil Serum 30ml comes in a smart packaging with a pump function that makes it easy to dispense the right amount, a drop, without waste or mess, which feels particularly important when it comes to oil-based products as spills can easily leave stubborn stains. Since such a small amount goes a long way, the bottle feels generous. The consistency was soft and easy to wash off from the hands afterwards. Unfortunately, it’s a big downside that the scent is so strong and overpowering. It significantly lowers my rating. The smell was hard to wash off, and even though I washed my hair with a shampoo from another brand twice, my hair still smells strong. The unpleasant scent is most noticeable when the hair is dry. I suspected from the beginning that it was the oil that smelled the most and chose at one point to skip it after using shampoo, mask, and conditioner from the same line, which made the scent less overpowering and easier to wash out of the hair. But it’s still there. In summary, this is a practical and economical oil with a smart pump function, but its strong scent can be a significant drawback, especially for those who are sensitive to intense perfume scents. Helps my hair not to "fly"
I got this product for free as a test pilot via Smartson. This is really a serum and not a hair oil. I have used many different kinds of hair oil. The scent is the same as in this series. It smells fresh, floral, and vanilla. I have curls, so I needed to use much more than just 2 pumps as it says. For my hair, I needed 5-6 pumps. The hair was not weighed down at all. I am a little bit in love with this product. After washing, I didn't even need to use any styling products. What you see in the photo is how my hair looked after this serum. The days after I wash my hair, it’s about keeping the hair moist and adding products. Otherwise, my hair usually flies away. It gets terribly frizzy. But I tried taking 6-8 pumps and a few spritzes of water in my hair, and boom, it turned out great. I must admit I have to use quite a bit. But it is SO nice to skip styling my hair! The serum is part of a series with shampoo, conditioner, mask, and serum. I have very curly hair that requires a lot of moisture. The serum is easy to apply to the hair, and I don't feel that it weighs down my curly hair or makes it greasy. The scent is mild and pleasant, lingering in the hair for several days. I have long, thick, dry hair that needs a lot of products, and I have now tested this serum along with shampoo, conditioner, and mask from the same line. This serum is used on towel-dried hair. The consistency feels good, and the scent is wonderful! I always need to have a serum in my hair for it to feel good, and this serum is of good quality, smooths the hair strands, and makes it soft and less frizzy. Miracle oil serum
I got to be a test pilot for this hair care series via Smartson, and love-hate is a fact. My hair has a natural fall, but it is quite thin and frizzy, it gets flat and colored and has to endure most things. The hair became soft, shiny, and completely smooth after I used both shampoo, mask, and conditioner. It really exceeded expectations. The serum was a bit of the cherry on top, I usually often get an oily and greasy feeling when I use serum. But with this, I experienced nothing like that. It just seemed to disappear into the hair, in a positive way. It was also economical, I didn't need much for my hair that goes a bit below my shoulders. So my concern that it would run out quickly with the relatively small bottle was unfounded. The problem is the scent. The first time I actually liked it, maybe because it was new and not at all like my usual products. It wasn't an overwhelming strong scent, leaning a bit floral, etc. But every other time, the scent became something I couldn't handle at all. Covid has ruined my sense of smell, and all I can smell is that it smells old and musty. Kind of like a summer cottage and wet dog. Still not strong, but as soon as I have my hair down, it is constantly present. Super sad, and it really hardly depends on the product, but I can no longer use it. Best serum!
Was skeptical about trying this since many serums I've tried always made my hair greasy after a few days.
