Why such a bad rating?
I don't understand why this has such a bad rating. I've also always used IsaDora's OG matte powder. And yes, it was fantastic. The new powder isn't as thick and therefore doesn't feel exactly as matte, because it doesn't lay down as thick a layer. But it is still MATTE. It still covers REALLY well and evens out the skin. It's not the same powder as the old one, but I'm grateful they came out with a new talc-free powder, since all talc can contain traces of asbestos. It's impossible to ensure that the talc in powder doesn't contain asbestos. I've personally contacted well-known brands about this and they couldn't give me a definitive "yes, our talc is asbestos-free". So I'm happy to pay the price for a slightly different powder compared to the old one, to avoid potentially inhaling talc all day 😬. I have very oily skin, no powders have ever saved me from this (except for Fenty Invisimatte, which is a blotting powder), and the picture was taken after a few hours at work. But you can see how smooth and nice my skin is with this powder, and still matte in the places where the oil doesn't come through :) If you feel that hardly any powder is laying on your face when you apply - try applying with a flat powder puff!2418 viewsto leave a comment - Most helpful negative6 monthsRating: 1 out of 5
Disappointed
I have been buying Isadora's compact powder for 15 years and have been very satisfied. I followed Isadora's own guide on which color I should have from the new ones (which don't come in as many colors) based on which color I used to have from "the old ones". The new one I got according to the list is to start with myyych lighter. It would have been okay if the new ones were more like the old ones, as they were quite transparent, so it wasn't super sensitive which color you took, I thought. But with this new one, it is much more pigmented/covering. The old formula made my pores disappear, I used the powder mainly because of that. This new formula makes my pores and fine lines instead become more noticeable. I will need to find another brand of powder. Sad. Good but bad
I had very high expectations of this powder since I've heard a lot of good things about it. I sometimes use powder only when I just want to freshen up a bit, then I find that it gets cakey and I don't use much of it. But it kind of "rolls off".
