Instructions for applying Gel iQ Gel Nail Strips
Please read the entire instruction manual and safety information thoroughly and follow it before starting your manicure. Adhere closely to the steps below for the best results.
Safety Information
This product is not intended for use by individuals under 16 years of age. May cause allergic reactions. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and skin. Rinse immediately with water if the product comes into contact with them. Stop use if redness or itching occurs. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor. Keep out of reach of children.
Important
NOTE! Gel iQ Gel Nail Strips are highly sensitive to light. To avoid issues, do not leave the package open, whether outdoors or in direct sunlight indoors.
Preparation
• Remove any old nail polish with an acetone-free remover that lacks oil, color, and fragrance.
• File all your nails to the same length and gently push back the cuticles if needed.
• Wash your hands thoroughly and dry them completely.
Choose a strip for each nail
Match your nail against the strip chart and select the size that fits best for each nail. Bend the sheet to easily determine which size is right for you. Ensure you don't choose a strip that's too large, as it might extend beyond the nail.
Clean your nails
Clean your nails with the included cleansing wipes.
Apply the strips
NOTE! Avoid touching the sticky side that will adhere to the nail.
1. Use the manicure stick to gently lift the strip at the back edge.
2. Apply the strip close to, but not on, the cuticles and press firmly. Start by pressing down along the center of the nail and then towards the sides to avoid air bubbles.
Seal the strips
Use the manicure stick or your fingers to press down along the edges and encapsulate the nail with the strip. Trim the strip close to your natural nail's tip.
Cure
Cure for 60 seconds under the Depend Gel iQ UV/LED lamp. (If the lamp isn't set to 60 seconds, adjust it by holding the start button until it switches to 60 s.)
NOTE! Optimal curing is achieved by holding the lamp 10 cm above your nails, ensuring the best flexibility and durability.
Finishing
Smooth the edge of the strip by filing it in line with your nail's edge to remove any sharp corners/edges. Avoid filing on top of the strip.
Extra Tips
Polishing
If your nails are uneven, polish them before application. Use one of Depend's nail buffers to smooth out the nail surface. Start with the coarse side and finish with the fine side for a smooth and even surface. Wipe away all nail dust with a cleansing wipe and let the nails dry completely before applying the strips.
Cleaning and Peeling
Prepare your nails and cuticles optimally by cleaning and peeling them. Use Depend Cuticle Peeling for nails and cuticles. Massage the peeling around the cuticles and on the nails to remove dead skin cells and dirt. Wait 1 minute. Rinse thoroughly and let the nails dry completely before continuing with the strip application.
Top Coating
After applying all the strips: Finish with a layer of Gel iQ Top Coat for extended durability.
Removing Gel iQ Gel Nail Strips
Carefully follow the steps below to gently remove the strips while preserving the quality of your own nails and cuticles.
Products needed:
• Gel iQ Remover Oil
• Lukewarm water (about 40 degrees)
• A bowl (about 2 liters) that can accommodate your entire hand. Alternatively, a sink can be used.
Here’s how to do it
Apply Remover Oil
1. Generously apply Remover Oil to the fingers of one hand, along the cuticle and over the entire nail. Massage the oil for about 20-30 seconds on each nail.
2. Fill a bowl or sink with lukewarm water (about 40 degrees). NOTE! Ensure the water is not so hot that it causes burns.
3. Submerge your fingers in the lukewarm water so that all fingers are covered. Wait for about 3 minutes. The warmer the water, without causing burns, the better the effect.
4. After about 3 minutes, gently start to peel off the strips at the growth closest to the cuticle using a manicure stick or your own nail. Keep your hand submerged.
5. Gently scrape and allow the water to seep into the joint between the nail and the strip. This way, the strip gradually dissolves, allowing you to peel it off like a flake of paint. Be careful and dissolve the strip piece by piece with your fingers still in the water. Be especially cautious at the tip of the nail, where it is driest and most prone to breaking. When scraping, ensure not to damage your own nail. The strips usually adhere most strongly at the tip of the nail.
6. Perform a temperature check for the best effect. As the water cools, check and maintain the temperature around 40 degrees. It’s advisable to replace or add warmer water during the removal process.
