PHA is a mild acid that works similarly to AHA/BHA but with less risk of irritation, making it good for sensitive skin 🩷 It is uncommon for PHA to cause a purging phase ("skin purging") in the same way that stronger acids like AHA/BHA or retinol can. However, if your skin is not used to exfoliation, you may experience slight redness, dryness, or small breakouts at first. This usually goes away within 1-2 weeks. To minimize irritation, you can start using it 2-3 times a week and gradually increase.
