Shades are very misleading
The product itself is good, applies well, and has good pigment. I personally prefer brown-toned lip products, so I ordered the brown "hot cocoa" pencil, which looked brown in the picture and was classified as a brown shade. But when I opened the pencil and tested it, "hot cocoa" was actually a wine red shade, not even close to brown! 😂 It's a bit annoying, now I have to go to the store to buy the right shade. If you don't know a familiar shade beforehand when ordering, it's always best to buy in-store! The pictures are usually taken under studio lighting and are also edited, which can sometimes affect the shade in the images. Product images give a good indication of the shades, but we always recommend, if possible, to try the product first in a store to find the best shade!
