Hi Sarah,
In the shampoo, there is a type of sulfate, namely Sodium Laureth Sulfate. But not in the conditioner🥰
Functions of sulfate in shampoo:
⭐Removes dirt and oil: Sulfates break down fats and oils in the hair and scalp, making it easy to rinse away with water.
⭐Creates lather: Sulfates make the shampoo lather well, which many associate with effective cleaning.
⭐Distributes the product: The lather makes it easier to spread the shampoo evenly in the hair.
Disadvantages of sulfates:
✖ They can be too strong for sensitive skin or dry hair, leading to irritation or drying out.
✖ They can strip natural oils from the scalp, which is not ideal for all hair types (especially curly or color-treated hair).
