From skeptical to saved! āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø
Skin type: oily/combination Skin issues: tendency to deep, underground pimples, Rosacea, PIE. As a person with Rosacea, I have always been afraid to try vitamin C for fear that my skin wouldnāt tolerate it⦠so I never took the chance. Iāve had skin problems since my youth, and even prescription creams havenāt given the effect I hoped for. So what was a vitamin C serum supposed to do anyway? After years of problems, I thought, screw it! ⦠and I am simply blown away. This has been a total game-changer for me. As someone who has been forced to be above average interested in skincare, I did my research: š§“ contains 15% pure L-ascorbic acid in a light, water-based formula (perfect for oily skin girlies) with a low pH of 3.2ā3.4. This provides optimal conditions for absorption into the skin. The low pH can also contribute to a mild exfoliating effect for some (at least thatās how it feels for me). I havenāt had a SINGLE acne breakout (ā¼ļøknock on wood) since I started with C-Glow, and my skin feels significantly less oily throughout the day. Vitamin C is best known for its effect on pigmentation spots (PIH), but personally, I feel it has had a big effect on my post-inflammatory redness (PIE). The red spots after acne used to last for several months (š¢), but now they have faded significantly and new ones disappear much faster than before. Together with ferulic acid and vitamin E, the formula is more stable and provides an effective antioxidant combination. What has perhaps surprised me the most is that I also experience less general redness in my skin. With rosacea, I was afraid a strong vitamin C serum would make my skin worse, but for me, it has actually been the opposite. I believe the reduction in PIE has helped contribute to this. My opinion: My skin hasnāt become perfect in two months, but after two months I have better skin than Iāve had in my entire adult life. WARNINGā¼ļøā ļø If you have rosacea or very sensitive skin, you should tread carefully. Iāve been lucky to tolerate it well, but that concentration of L-ascorbic acid is too strong for many in this group. Temporary tingling/stinging and slight redness are to be expected, but if the skin burns or becomes clearly irritated, thatās a sign of šāš¼. I must be clear that I have oily/combination skin which likely contributes to my tolerance. We all have different skin, and what works for me doesnāt necessarily work for you⦠but if youāre going to invest in a vitamin C serum, I recommend starting here. My tips: ⨠Use the product daily! ⨠Be consistent with your skincare routine, small things over time make a big difference. ⨠Remember SPF! āļø #love1 product in post From skeptical to saved! āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø261 views - The post was made 4 monthsRating: 1 out of 5verified customer
Be careful!
Skin type: Combination, rosacea and acne-prone. Rating: ā Not recommended for reactive or very sensitive skin. Experienceš§¼ The cleanser was tested for a week. The result was a strong inflammatory reaction, with breakouts comparable in extent and severity to cystic acne. It was purchased by mistake, thinking it was the brand's moisturizer, which I am otherwise very satisfied with. Properties: ⢠Texture: The product contains a concentration of snail slime. In this cleanser, I feel that it causes the gel to form a strong film on the skin that is difficult to remove. ⢠Irritation: Due to the gel's viscosity, it feels very difficult to rinse off with water alone. This forces me to scrub more to remove product residues. For a sensitive skin barrier, this friction is a direct trigger for inflammation. If the product is not removed 100%, the snail slime residue can act occlusively. For acne-prone and sensitive skin, this can trap sebum and bacteria under the surface, which may explain my reaction. What I should have done differently: I should have stopped testing earlier as rosacea flared up from the start, but since the skin didnāt feel stripped, I thought the reaction was temporary. The difficult removal of the product counteracts the benefits of the soothing ingredients. For users with sensitivity and acne tendency, there is a high risk of barrier breakdown and inflammatory breakouts.1 product in post Be careful!282 views- The user's roll: Customer service at Lyko. The comment was made 4 monthsHi š Thank you so much for sharing such a thorough experience ā itās unfortunate to hear that your skin reacted so strongly. Skin, especially when sensitive, rosacea- and acne-prone, can react very differently to the same product. What feels soothing for some can unfortunately trigger reactions in others. When it comes to cleansing products with this type of consistency, they can feel heavier to rinse off for some, which can affect both comfort and how the skin reacts ā especially if the skin barrier is already sensitive. If you want tips and advice from our skin therapists, I recommend sending an email to hudterapeuten@lyko.se š§ We really appreciate you sharing your reflections on your own experience, it can be helpful for others in similar situations šæ1 likes
