    Pimples and Breakouts

This really gave me breakouts on my face. I tried it once a little while ago along with a new sunscreen and got a lot of pimples, under and over the skin and redness in the skin throughout the day. Loved the finish and the color of it and wouldn't believe it was this that caused it, so I threw away the sunscreen thinking it was that I reacted to. The other day I wanted to try the bronzing balm again to get a dewy finish, throughout the day I had 5 new pimples on my forehead and by the end of the day my whole skin was clogged and felt like a greasy coating. I washed my face three times to try to get it all off. The next day it looks worse with even more breakouts and pimples. My skin was completely smooth and nice before I used this, I haven't had the same bad effect from any other product. I also see now in the ingredient list that it contains vegetable oil which is extremely pore-clogging for all skin types and shouldn't be in a makeup or face product. I'm writing this review as a warning to others who don't want their skin ruined. Straight in the trash.

Hey Maria 🌞 Thank you so much for sharing your experience – we really appreciate it, even though we clearly wish it was better ❤️ We understand how frustrating it is when the skin reacts like this, especially when you had high expectations for the product. What you describe sounds like a classic reaction where the skin gets clogged, and there can be several reasons why this particular product triggered the breakout. Our skin is incredibly individual, and even ingredients that many tolerate well can create an imbalance for some. In this case, you mention vegetable oil, and certain types can be comedogenic – meaning they clog the pores – especially in combination with heat, sweat, or other products. When you apply a new balm over a sunscreen (or remnants of it), it can also create a kind of "film" on the skin that makes it difficult for the pores to breathe, and then breakouts can easily occur. Many find that the skin's reaction is about the composition of products and not necessarily one product alone. It can be helpful to test one product at a time for a few days to see how the skin responds – especially with skincare and makeup that contains active or clogging ingredients. Again – thank you so much for your honest and constructive feedback 🙏 It is so important for both us and other customers, and we will take it with us moving forward. Wishing you a lovely day ahead 💌

    Unsure - dry

I bought this after being influenced and reading good reviews. But my own experience is that as soon as I put it on, it’s very glowy, but after a while it makes my face super dry and with dead skin. By the end of the day, I have almost like a white veil over my face, and my skin feels weird to apply makeup/product on, and it just beads off. Unsure if it’s the product itself or if I might be sensitive to vitamin c. The positive is that it hasn’t caused any pimples or breakouts.

You're welcome! 😄 Yes, you are absolutely right that chemical sunscreen is often recommended to be applied before moisturizer, especially if the sunscreen is very thin in consistency. It provides better contact with the skin and makes the UV filters activate more effectively 🌞 But many modern sunscreens are formulated to work well as the last step too – so it’s a bit about the type of product and what works best for your skin.

    different than before?

Are there others who experience that Niactil 4% is not the same as it once was and that something must be different with the ingredients, even though it is claimed that it is not? Something must have happened in the last few years.. Additionally, it is much whiter in color than it was before, as it used to lean more towards a shiny color.
