Hi! I was thinking of letting my natural hair grow out after having dyed it with permanent color for a very long time. My roots are very light, I would say something between medium-dark blonde, and the color I have in my hair is dark brown. It feels a bit boring with the obvious roots that are showing, and I was wondering if maybe I could tone over them with one of these colors and do it without risking that the color from the toner gets stuck in the hair fibers? So that I can continue to dye with toner until my hair is long enough that I can cut off the part of the hair that is permanently dyed? Toners are supposed to fade slowly out of the hair, unlike a permanent hair dye. Can you take a darker shade of this toner for example medium-dark blonde hair, or do you have to prepare the hair first?
Hey Evelina!
All products that contain hydrogen peroxide affect the hair's natural pigment, so does a toner. To help you better save your natural hair color, it’s probably better for you to try to remove the color from your lengths
