Citric acid and dark colored hair?

I got a little curious about this series since I've read a lot of good things about it. So I've been using this product (also shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, and a leave-in cream) for a few weeks. I may have experienced that my hair feels a bit better and softer, so that's good. But suddenly the color in my hair is fading much faster. It colors dark brown that leans towards reddish-violet. And suddenly the lengths and ends turn orange in no time. I wonder if it could be the acid in these products that pulls the color out more? Okay that it's summer and the sun is doing its part. But I've had the same hair color for several years now, and I haven't experienced the color fading this much in previous summers.

Hey Emma! 👋🏼 The Redken Acidic Bonding line is actually designed to protect colored hair, not to pull the color out. It works with a low pH value to close the hair strand's cuticle and thereby better encapsulate the color, not the other way around 🤗 However, sun, heat, and frequent washing can be real color thieves, especially when the hair is already colored in red-purple tones that tend to fade more easily. If you've washed your hair more often, been in the sun more, or maybe used heat tools more frequently lately, that could be the reason 😅 If you want to keep the color depth longer, it can help to complement with a color-preserving UV protection or a color mask that refreshes the shade between colorings 🌸 This UV protection is my favorite ☀️ lyko.com/sv/suntique/suntique-i-m-hair-sun-treatment-100ml Take care 🦋

    Powder before or after?

I really want a matte look. Yes, not "dusty". But matte 😁 What everyone calls "glow" just looks oily and unclean on me. That's why I always use a mattifying powder as a top finish when I do my makeup. So my question is; can you apply powder AFTER setting spray? Or does that ruin the properties of the spray? I also want the makeup to last long, but I don't want to look shiny 😁

    Wow!

I've been thinking about this for a long time, after reading many nice reviews about it. However, I haven't had the chance to smell how it smells, since I don't have a good perfume/makeup store nearby. But now I went for it and bought a "scentless" perfume - and I don't regret it for a second! I bought the smallest bottle in case it wasn't for me. But next time, it will definitely be the largest. Absolutely wonderful! 🌸 Very floral and sweet scent, without being too heavy and old-fashioned. I think I can also sense a faint undertone of vanilla. 🌸 Reminds me a bit of Christina Aguilera's perfume (which I used a lot before), so if you like that, you'll definitely like this one. 🌸 The scent lasts all day and one spray is enough. Sometimes I apply it in the hollow of my neck, and sometimes on my wrists, but it holds well regardless. Before it has time to dry on the chosen area, I also usually take a bit off with my finger and rub it behind my ears. I bought an expensive product completely blind, but it was a total hit! 😍 #lykoreview

    Nice serum

As a #LYKOINFLUTESTER, I have been able to try products from #NIOXIN for over 4 weeks. About me: Almost 43 years old. I have long but thin, colored hair. My hair gets greasy quickly, but I try to wash it every three days. Even though I go to the hairdresser every 4-5 weeks (to color), and get the ends trimmed every other time (when she thinks it’s needed), my lengths are very worn. I have a lot of split ends. Still, as I said, I have done EVERYTHING in recent years to reduce wear. I can’t list everything I do and don’t do to keep my hair healthy, but it’s a lot! Despite this, I have, as I said, very worn lengths. I also have tendencies to "vicar" in the hairline where I often lose a lot of hair. You only see the vicars, but I generally feel that I lose a lot of hair. I notice it especially every time I wash my hair. But it’s also visible on my hairbrush, which I usually empty once a week. That’s why I was very excited when I was going to test these products. Conveniently, I had a hair appointment both the day I received the products and when they were to be reviewed. So my hair is newly colored and has "freshly trimmed" ends, both in the before and after picture. My review of this serum: I must start by saying that you should apply 2-4 PIPETTES (according to the description on the bottle), Not 2-4 drops as it says in Lyko's description 😉 ➕️ Absorbs quickly into the scalp and leaves no traces behind. ➕️ Smells very pleasant. Maybe a little on the floral/"auntie" side, but nothing that bothers me. ➕️ I have actually noticed that my hair loss has decreased and that some fuzz has even grown in my vicars. It should be added that I have tried this serum together with other products from Nioxin. So whether this serum did the job or all three together is hard to determine. ➖️ A bit difficult to apply with the pipette. I usually lean my head back and drop it on my head, but it runs away quickly, so you have to be quick to start massaging. If I hadn’t leaned my head back, I would have gotten the serum on my forehead/temples instead of the vicars and hairline 😁 ➖️ Uses a lot of product. If I want to cover the entire scalp, I have to use 4 pipettes, and then the bottle runs out quickly. So after 1 week, I started applying only to my problem area, i.e., the vicars and a little in the hairline. And then one pipette is enough. ➖️ Quite expensive, but at the same time, something has happened with the growth and less hair loss. So in the end, it’s probably worth it 😁 I am at least satisfied with this serum and think I will continue to buy it, even after my test bottle is empty ☺️

    Nice!

So my hair is newly colored with “freshly trimmed” ends, both in the before and after pictures. My review of this product: ➕️ Easy to apply with a handy pump bottle. ➕️ Absorbs quickly into the scalp and leaves no “traces” behind. ➕️ Quite a pleasant scent, maybe a bit on the masculine side. But it doesn’t smell particularly strong. ➕️ I have actually noticed a decrease in my hair loss over these few weeks. Small fuzz is also starting to come out in my vicars, so I have good hopes. However, I have tested several products in the same series, so it’s hard to determine which one has been beneficial. Or if it’s a combination of all of them. But something has actually happened! ➖️ Doesn’t feel particularly economical. If I want to cover the entire scalp, I need the 15 pumps indicated in the description. But after just 1 week, I had used 1/3 of the bottle 😱 So after that, I focused solely on my problem area, i.e., the vicars. And now I’m using maybe 4 pumps instead. Overall, I’m satisfied! The products are expensive, but if they give me my hair back, it’s absolutely worth it 🥰

Thanks for the comments! ❤️ Caroline: no, as I wrote in the text, I had been to the hairdresser and dyed the roots, both on the day I took the before picture and today when the products were to be reviewed. So a little fluff has come out 😁

    Absolutely fantastic!

Conveniently, I had a hair appointment both the day I received the products and when they were to be reviewed. So my hair is newly colored with “freshly trimmed” ends, both in the before and after picture. So what do I think of this product? Well, as my title reveals, I think it’s absolutely fantastic! The hair becomes incredibly soft and manageable. It doesn’t feel as frizzy as it usually does. Split ends are split ends, and the only thing that helps is probably to cut them, I guess? But since I was freshly cut when I started testing the mask, it feels like I had a fair starting point. And I actually think I have fewer split ends now. The hair also feels stronger. There aren’t nearly as many ends breaking off when I brush it (usually visible in the sink 🤪) compared to before. I also think the hair feels less tangled when I brush it. Mild and pleasant scent 😌 This mask definitely gets full marks from me!

Probably won't be able to use any other shampoo and conditioner 😁

As a #LYKOINFLUTESTER, I’ve had the chance to try products from #NIOXIN for over 4 weeks. About me: Almost 43 years old. I have long but thin, colored hair. Gets oily quickly, but I try to wash my hair every three days. Even though I go to the hairdresser every 4-5 weeks (to color), and get my ends trimmed every other time, my lengths are very damaged. Despite this, I still have very damaged lengths. I also have tendencies to "gaps" in my hairline where I often lose a lot of hair. It’s just the gaps you see, but I generally feel like I’m losing a lot of hair. Especially noticeable every time I wash my hair. But it also shows on my hairbrush, which I usually empty once a week. Therefore, I was very excited when I got to test these products. Conveniently, I had a hair appointment both the day I received the products and when they were to be reviewed. So my hair is newly colored and "freshly trimmed" ends, both in the before and after pictures. So what do I think? Shampoo: 🔹️ 4-5 weeks is obviously too short a time to experience that the hair gets thicker. But I noticed already during the second wash that I was losing significantly less hair than usual. 🔹️ It’s not stated in the description, but I usually wash with shampoo 2 times. If I don’t think it lathers enough on the first wash, I repeat the process. But the product is economical! I use about 1 teaspoon/wash, and that’s enough. I wash/massage ONLY the scalp. The lengths get clean from the rinse water. 🔹️ The hair feels rough after washing, but it smooths out as soon as you put in conditioner (I also use a mask from the same brand, before conditioner. But that gets its own review). Conditioner: 🔹️ Both the shampoo and conditioner smell fresh with a hint of peppermint/menthol, but not too strong. 🔹️ The conditioner SHOULD be applied to the scalp as well, but if you’re careful when rinsing it out, the scalp won’t get oily from it. 🔹️ When massaging the scalp, I feel it’s cool. A bit like the effect menthol usually has. But not unpleasant. 🔹️ It detangles the hair very well and it feels soft afterward. 🔹️ A small dollop, about 2 teaspoons, is enough for both hair and scalp. Scalp & Hair Treatment: 🔹️ A bit difficult to apply. I would have preferred it to have a shower head instead of a small stream like it does now. The idea is that you should use it in all the hair + scalp, but I find it difficult with this nozzle. So I’ve focused on my problem area; the gaps in the hairline. 🔹️ Quite a small bottle. Especially if it’s meant to be used in both the scalp and lengths. 🔹️ Just like I said at the beginning, a couple of weeks is too short to determine if the hair will get thicker. But I do experience, as I said, reduced hair loss. Which of the products has had an effect, or if it’s all three, is hard to say. But something HAS actually changed! When I test products, I usually only use the products I’m testing. This is to make a fair assessment as possible. But this time I’ve supplemented with the same products that ALWAYS are part of my hair care routine. A leave-in product and hair oil. Because I’m terrified of getting dry lengths 😁 Considering the short time I’ve tested these products, I’m very satisfied. A small downside is that it’s quite expensive, but if the hair ends up thicker and healthier in the end, it’s definitely worth it! I will continue with these products for a few more months to really see if they work. It might be that I won’t be able to live without Nioxin 😜
