Retinol serum around the eyes?
Hi! I have been a regular user of Retinol for several years and use The Ordinary 1% in Squalane 4-5 nights a week. It is the one that works best. One of the areas I definitely want to treat is around the eyes (I am 56 years old and don’t have a lot but some wrinkles and dryness under the eyes) but I read that the serum shouldn’t be used there. Is there any Retinol serum that you ARE allowed to use around the eyes?59 views- The user's roll: Customer service at Lyko. The comment was made 19 hoursHey there Annette! 👋 How wonderful to hear that you are a seasoned retinol user and have found a product that works well for you 😊 You are absolutely right that The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane is not intended for use around the eyes – the skin there is significantly thinner and more sensitive, which increases the risk of irritation 🤍 However, there are retinol products that are specifically formulated for the eye area and are both milder and more suited for the thin skin, while also working against fine lines, wrinkles, and dryness. Some good alternatives are for example: 🩷lyko.com/sv/the-inkey-list/the-inkey-list-retinol-eye-cream-15-ml 🩷lyko.com/sv/pixi/pixir-retinol-eye-cream 🩷lyko.com/sv/torriden/torriden-cellmazing-firming-eye-cream-30-ml Since you are already used to strong retinol, you can usually tolerate these well, but we still recommend starting cautiously (2-3 evenings a week) and always following up with a nourishing eye cream. Don’t forget sun protection during the day ☀️ Hope you find one that suits you🤗

Can this be stored in the bathroom cabinet?1124 views- The user's roll: Customer service at Lyko. The comment was made 1 monthHi Eva Margareta 👋😊 Yes, it can stand in the bathroom cabinet, but preferably in a cool and dark place, not directly in sunlight or near a heat source. If your bathroom gets very warm or humid, it might be better to keep it in another room, or maybe in the fridge – but that's not an absolute must 🥰 Take care!

Does it work with other serums?
Hi. I'm new to The Ordinary's products. I just started with this Retinol 0.5% in squalane. I also bought The Ordinary's Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA and Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. Can I combine any of these or should I use retinol without any of the other serums? Best regards6517 views- The user's roll: Skin therapist at Lyko. The comment was made 7 monthsHi Anna 😊 In the evening once a week you can use Retinol 0.5%. On the evenings you don't use retinol, you can use the Alpha Arbutin and Niacinamide serum. In the morning you can use Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA and Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. Wishing you a nice day! 🌺

Retinol from The Ordinary: What you should know
I love this product and think it has worked wonders for my skin. One tip is to be careful and not use it when your skin is sensitive or irritated, as it can worsen the problem.5736 views - The post was made 7 months
Retinol for dark area under the eye
Hi, I have a bruise that never completely goes away under my eye. There is now a dark spot under one eye where the bruise was. Can this be used to renew the skin or what do you recommend? I've never used it before, but I'm open to trying to get rid of the blue/dark shadow/area under my eye. Thanks for the reply! :)5168 views- The user's roll: Skin therapist at Lyko. The comment was made 7 monthsHeihei 👋 If you are still blue after a bruise, I would recommend contacting the pharmacy to get advice directly from professionals. At the pharmacy, there are a number of treatment creams that are suitable for treating bruises and contusions, counteracting coagulation (blood clotting) and improving local blood flow. It also helps bruises disappear faster 🥰 Personally, I have tested Hirudoid ointment, this is over-the-counter! Wishing you a nice day ahead 👋

The OrdinaryRetinol 0.5% in Squalane 30 ml
This water-free solution contains 0.5% Retinol, a well-studied ingredient that aims to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and textural irregularities. While Retinol has been studied extensively, it can be irritating to the skin for first-time users and requires a build up of skin tolerance. For this reason, we generally recommend using Granactive Retinoid 2% or Granactive Retinoid 5% for first-time users. This formula also offers hydrating benefits due to the presence of Squalane.
The Ordinary’s portfolio of retinoids includes the following formulations:
Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion (Moderate Strength, No Irritation)
Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane (High Strength, No to Low Irritation)
Retinol 0.2% in Squalane (Low Strength, Moderate Irritation)
Retinol 0.5% in Squalane (Moderate Strength, High Irritation)
Retinol 1% in Squalane (High Strength, Very High Irritation) Note: When pregnant or breastfeeding, it is recommended to avoid any skincare products containing retinoids such as formulations with Granactive Retinoid or Retinol.
Apply a small amount to face in the PM as part of your skincare regimen, after water serums but before heavier treatments. Do not use with other retinoid treatments. Avoid unprotected solar exposure. Store in a cool, dry place.
