    Sensitive skin with perioral dermatitis

Hi :-) I have periodically gotten quite a bit of rash of the perioral dermatitis type, now that I am pregnant it has flared up a lot around my mouth. Is this a good product for skin with PD? Of course, in between a well-suited cleanser and cream. Skin type otherwise: oily and greasy in the T-zone and dry on the cheeks. Gets more oily in the T-zone as the day goes on. My dermatologist gave me a sample of La Roche Posay Toleraine Rosaliac AR Concentre and said I should try it along with Viatris Elidel cream (medication). The first days this Rosaliac AR cream had a very soothing and calming effect on my red skin, but now after a week the skin itches more. I've heard you should try a product a bit longer than a week before concluding, so I choose to be patient for a couple more weeks and see if the itching goes away. The skin is not red, but maybe the cream is better for people with rosacea and not PD. I am considering trying La Roche Posay Toleraine Dermallergo cream since I saw several here on Lyko commented that this is good for sensitive skin with PD. I gladly welcome all tips, and thank you in advance.

Hi 😊 Perioral dermatitis can unfortunately often flare up more during pregnancy due to hormonal changes, and many also experience that the skin becomes extra sensitive and reactive. The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane can definitely be a nice product for PD, especially if the skin feels tight, dry, or irritated. Squalane is simply composed, without active ingredients or fragrance, and works more as support for the skin barrier than as a “treatment” product. Many with sensitive skin tolerate it well, but since PD skin can react very individually, I would introduce it gently, preferably a few drops over cream in the evening first. Regarding Rosaliac AR Concentrate, it sounds like the skin initially liked it, but maybe now it reacts a bit to something in the formulation. Itching can be a sign that the skin is irritated, even if it doesn’t necessarily get redder. It is made more for rosacea and diffuse redness than classic PD, so Dermallergo might be a safer and calmer alternative for you right now. Many with PD tolerate the Toleraine series better because it is more minimalist and aimed at sensitive and reactive skin. lyko.com/sv/la-roche-posay/la-roche-posay-toleriane-dermallergo-creme-40-ml Since you also use Elidel, I would try to keep the rest of the routine as simple and mild as possible for a while. Mild cleansing, few products, lots of calm, and as few active ingredients as possible are often what skin with PD responds best to 🌿

    So good

A must in my routine, perfect for us with seborrheic eczema or who tend to have fungal acne as this is one of the only oils that doesn't aggravate it! Perfect to mix a few drops into the night cream

Hey Clara😊 So great that you’re asking✨ Yes, The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane can be used by children from around 14 years old, as it is a very mild and moisturizing oil that resembles the skin's own lipids. It is free from active ingredients (no acids, retinoids, or exfoliating agents), which makes it gentle and safe for younger skin that needs moisture. Hope the answer can be helpful and that you have a super nice day💫

Wonder oil for super sensitive skin

My skin is extremely sensitive and dry. I easily get red, burning bumps on my face when my skin is out of balance, so I am very careful about which products I use. This product was the first I dared to try after my first major outbreak, and it really saved my skin. It calmed me down immediately and gave a feeling of comfort when I couldn't tolerate anything else on my skin. Since then, I haven't wanted to be without it. A real safety product for me with reactive and sensitive skin. It’s worth mentioning, though, that it works best in combination with other products, like VICHY Mineral 89 Daily Booster, as it doesn’t provide complete hydration on its own. But when my skin is completely out of balance, this is the gentlest and most soothing thing I can use.

Hey there ✨ Yes, many use The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane on dry scalp or dry hair, even though it is not specifically developed for hair. It can provide moisture and soften the hair, but only use a few drops and test first on a small area💪🏼 Have a lovely day ahead!

    Guasha?

Hey, does this work well to use with my guasha stone in the morning? I want a light oil that doesn't interfere with the effects of other products and that I can use to get a bit of moisture and glide with my guasha. I have a combination of dry and oily skin and am prone to breakouts.

Hey Herman 👋 Yes, this product is excellent for gua sha – especially in the morning! 🤍 Squalane is lightweight, non-sticky, and provides just the right glide for gua sha without feeling heavy on the skin. It locks in moisture in the skin, so you get both glide and hydration in one. It is both gentle, effective, and perfect to use with your gua sha stone 😊 Take care!

    Goated basic serum 🐐

Skin type: dry / sensitive / eczema Yes, this serum is super basic, but it’s one of my favorite skincare products that I just HAVE to have in my routine. I’ve been using the serum for several years now, and I still use it all the time. Preferably for my evening routine, but also for my morning routine if needed. The serum absorbs quickly into the skin and provides a lot of moisture and glow without feeling too oily or greasy. Over the years, I’ve experienced a much greater positive effect from this on hydration than from all other hyaluronic acid serums/creams/etc. This can also be mixed into foundation before application if you want extra hydration💧 This is perhaps best for adding moisture, but I also think it calms the skin. I often get compliments when I use this under the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen because they both give a really natural and nice glow - even under makeup!

    Good for winter dry skin

I like this as a primer under makeup. I've gotten dry skin in my older days.
