    Damaged Skin Barrier

Hey! I wonder if this is better than CeraVe Moisturising cream for damaged skin barrier? This one from Inkey List tingled a bit on my cheeks and I got a little red. I am very surprised as it is supposed to be gentle and with ceramides. -Can you react to ceramides? I SUSPECT that I have a damaged skin barrier and not sensitive skin. I have olive skin with a yellow undertone so I do not have light skin and tan easily, I have never thought about whether I have sensitive skin, however, I have noticed that I react to a lot that is also supposed to be mild. I therefore suspect a damaged skin barrier but do not know why! I am 29 and have never used strong active ingredients such as retinol, peptides, etc. I should add that I am Southern European and my skin really hates the dry air here in Sweden 😅 I am very dry on my cheeks and around my nose, but oily on my forehead. However, my forehead also becomes dry as soon as I wash (even with CeraVe ceramide wash). I have previously reacted to -Niacinamide 7% (BeautyAct) I get dry from it -C-Vitamin C-rush Gel (Ole Henriksen) became red and warm -Propolis toner (COSRX) became red and warm and a bit flaky -All products from Aesop: I suspect sensitivity to fruit/vegetables on the skin such as parsley, mandarin, etc. -I have used AHA-toner GlowOH Spot from Ole Henriksen ONCE and it completely ruined my skin under the eyes/cheeks. That was several months ago and I still see negative effects on my skin. I have not dared to use acids since then. I only use BHA 2% + zinc toner (Beauty Act) very rarely only on my forehead during breakouts of pimples. How should I think? I have absolutely no long and complicated routine but only 2-3 steps… -I wash with CeraVe ceramide green -I apply a cream (different depending on day/dryness, etc.) But I only own these: -Biotherm Aquasource Gel -Bioregena After Sun almond milk -Embryolisse Hydra Light cream with HA And sometimes serum -Indy Beauty Intense hydrating serum I think I should stop using Biotherm as it contains a lot of perfume and denat-alcohol. But the rest is mild, so I don’t understand how I could have gotten such sensitive/damaged skin barrier? Except that I used niacinamide 7% toner for many months thinking it would be beneficial but it just got drier and drier. I have also acquired The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Peptide Collagen serum, but then saw that the HA serum also contains peptides. Is it safe to use or should I let my skin rest for a few weeks? I tried the Peptide collagen serum once and it stung so much that I had to wash it off. I haven’t tried the HA serum yet. Sorry for the long text, I will summarize my questions <3 1. Which is gentler between this Moisturizer and CeraVe? (I reacted a bit to Inkey List) 2. Can you react to ceramides? 3. How does one get a damaged skin barrier if it’s not from strong products? 4. Is it reasonable that niacinamide was the culprit? 5. Since I basically react to everything right now, how should I think? 6. Is it safe to use The Inkey List HA serum (contains peptides) or should I wait with it? And is it safe with Indy Beauty Intense hydrating serum or should I wait with that too? Thanks <3 <3

Hey again Anaïs 👋 Of the three following options, I would recommend this order 👇 1. La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser ➡️ It is specially designed for sensitive and damaged skin, very mild, fragrance-free, and soothing. Works especially well when you experience tightness and barrier issues. 2. Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser ➡️ Very mild and simple formula without fragrance and irritating substances, perfect if the skin is really sensitive. 3. Aveeno Nourishing Oat Cleanser ➡️ Also mild and soothing with oats, but contains a few more ingredients which makes it somewhat more "active" than the two above. Toleriane sounds like the best choice to support a weak skin barrier 🤍 Yes, when it comes to healing and soothing your skin barrier, the same caution applies around the eyes as it does for the rest of the face: 🩷Avoid active ingredients like peptides, retinol, AHA/BHA, vitamin C around the eye area until the skin is calmer. 🩷The skin around the eyes is thinner and more sensitive, so even mild serums with peptides can irritate if the barrier is damaged. Since you mention that you mainly have dryness lines and milia, and do not experience the same redness/sensitivity around the eyes, you can start with a very mild eye product when your skin feels stable 🙏 Hope you got answers to your questions!

    Nja

This cream doesn't offer anything special, sure the skin gets reasonably hydrated but not much more. There are cheaper creams that do more good.

Hey there! 🌸 Thank you for sharing your experience! What a bummer that the cream didn't quite live up to your expectations 🙁 Everyone reacts differently to skincare products, so results can vary from person to person. This cream is primarily designed to repair and plump the skin 🤍 I want to recommend our skin test where our skin therapists analyze and provide the best tips and products based entirely on your needs 🥰👉🏻 lyko.com/sv/beauty-scan/hartestet Have a great day! 😊

    Pretty okay

Pretty okay face cream that provides moisture. However, it lacks that little extra, it feels a bit bland. I probably expected more.

Hey Lou!🥰 Yes exactly, you are absolutely right! For the best results, you should first apply your toners or serums. Once they have properly absorbed, you apply this one, as it locks in moisture and gives the skin that extra glow ✨ Hope you will love it as much as we do! Take care! 🐚🫧🤍

    A favorite

Probably my favorite moisturizer and I have tried many. Probably a bit thick though. Sometimes I wouldn't say no to an extra lighter moisturizing layer underneath this one.

My new favorites in the product category

A very positive surprise was this product. Rich consistency that easily absorbs into the skin and doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy. Very moisturizing and nourishing. I don't use it every day, but regularly: great product for those evenings when the skin needs a slightly thicker, effective cream that doesn't clog the skin.

Introducing NEW Bio-Active Ceramide Repairing and Plumping Moisturizer, a revolution in ceramide technology to take skin renewal to the next level.
Formulated with next-generation, dual-action Bio-Active Ceramides to defend against visible skin changes, this rich moisturizer is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Targeting both the outer and deeper layers of the skin’s surface, Ceramide-NP promotes a signalling cascade within the skin to deliver multi-level support for aging skin.
Ceramides are typically longer chain molecules which work on the outermost layers of the skin but, our advanced Bio-Active Ceramide has a novel, short chain structure that helps increase its penetration within the skin. Working deep within the skin’s surface, Ceramide NP not only helps to strengthen the outer moisture barrier and provide intense moisturization but also helps support accelerated skin renewal layer by layer, visibly improving the early signs of aging from loss of firmness and dehydration to appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Anvendelse:

Gently massage into face and neck, can be used in your AM & PM skincare routine.
